SLGFA delivers high-quality, professional coaching for girls across South London (Southwark, Lewisham, Bromley). Our mission is to develop players and people—unlocking potential, building confidence and providing pathways into the professional game. We are now seeking a Senior Coach who embodies excellence, character and a genuine passion for girls’ football development.

Why This Role Matters

This is a pivotal hire that will directly influence the future growth, quality and culture of SLGFA. You will work closely with the Academy Director and Academy Manager, shaping environments that inspire, challenge and nurture players from beginner to elite.

We prioritise character over experience—leadership, humility, integrity, care and a growth mindset will define success here.

Key Responsibilities

Coaching & Player Development
- Deliver high-quality coaching sessions across all centres:
Southwark: Saturdays 11:30–13:30
Lewisham: Fridays 17:30–19:30
Bromley: Wednesdays 18:00–19:00
- Support individual Player Development Plans and contribute to refined, age-appropriate learning.
- Provide curriculum feedback to maintain consistency and elevate session quality.

Academy Growth & Retention
- Foster inspiring and inclusive training environments that encourage player progression and long-term engagement.
- Identify and propose opportunities to increase SLGFA’s impact across South London.

Talent Pathway & Partnerships

- Maintain positive relationships with local professional clubs to support player pathways.
- Liaise with Young Queens FC Team Managers to align development between academy and grassroots environments.

Operational Excellence
- Keep accurate, GDPR-compliant records for all academy players.
- Contribute to internal communication, planning and continuous improvement across all sites.

Who We’re Looking For (Character First)

A coach who is:
- Person-centred – cares deeply about player welfare and holistic development.
- Professional & dependable – consistent, organised, and committed to high standards.
- Growth-minded – reflective, curious, driven to improve and help others improve.
- Collaborative – thrives in a team, supports colleagues, communicates clearly.
- Energetic & engaging – creates fun, inspiring and challenging learning environments.
- Passionate about girls’ football – invested in equality, access and raising standards.

Essential Experience & Qualifications

- UEFA B Licence (minimum)
- Experience within a professional club or club community foundation
- Experience working specifically in girls’ football

Desirable
- 3+ years in an Academy or Emerging Talent Centre
- Coach mentoring experience
- Football programme management or coordination experience
