Salary: £25,500-£28,500 per annum

Location: The Cooper Associates County Ground, Taunton (with regional travel as required)

Closing date: 30th October 2025

The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Men’s Performance Analyst to join us and lead the delivery of world-class analysis services across Somerset County Cricket Club's men’s and academy programmes. As Men’s T20 Blast champions, you can play a key role in our drive to exceed our recent achievements in the 2026 season and beyond.

This position provides objective insight to coaches and players that supports learning, performance, and strategic decision-making across training, competition, and recruitment environments. The successful candidate will operate within a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership in developing Somerset’s men’s data and analysis strategy, ensuring alignment across all levels of the club.

To give you a snapshot of what is involved, you will lead match-day analysis for Somerset Men’s First XI, including pre-match planning, live support, and post-match reviews, while also ensuring performance analysis is delivered across the 2nd XI, Academy, and pathway teams through a dedicated team of analysts. You will provide tactical and opposition analysis across all formats, helping identify trends and opportunities, and collaborate with coaches to visualise KPIs and support game strategies using data and video insights. Additionally, you will manage the capture and analysis of training footage, develop personal development plans, and maintain Somerset’s performance data systems, ensuring secure storage and accessibility.

You will also contribute to the development of data visualisation tools such as dashboards, stay updated on emerging technologies, and support player recruitment with performance insights. Your role involves working closely with coaching, sports science, and other departments, as well as assisting with performance databases and depth charts. Furthermore, you will support media and communications teams by providing video clips and performance insights for various internal and external purposes.

About You

Amongst other essential criteria, you can demonstrate a proven track record of confidently presenting and interpreting data to influence decision-making by players and coaches, supported by a strong understanding of cricket’s tactical and technical aspects across all formats. You’ll possess extensive experience delivering live match-day analysis and post-match feedback in elite environments. Proficient in PCS Pro and familiar with dashboard tools like Power BI and Tableau, you are skilled in video editing and visual presentation. Your expertise includes building and maintaining depth charts and long-term player tracking systems. With excellent communication and presentation skills, you can effectively tailor insights for players, coaches, and leadership. Additionally, you will have a solid knowledge of the county cricket structure and Somerset CCC’s pathways and performance programmes.

To thrive in this role, you’ll be highly organised, proactive, and capable of effectively prioritising tasks under pressure in dynamic environments. You are confident in providing evidence-based insights and challenging assumptions, demonstrating a strong commitment to ongoing professional development. Motivated and diligent, you’ll understand the importance of teamwork and consistently uphold high standards of professionalism and reliability. You will also possess strong communication skills and an approachable, collaborative approach, enabling effective working relationships with others.

You will need to be eligible to work in the UK.

In return, you'll be joining a team who values everyone's contribution. You'll receive a competitive salary, access to health benefits and employee assistance programme, continued professional development support, free parking and more.
