Job Description
Skateboard GB is the UK wide governing body for skateboarding – a sport and culture defined by creativity, individuality and belonging. Rooted in community and constantly evolving, skateboarding is as much about expression and identity as it is performance. Skateboard GB exists to serve and champion the skateboarding community. Over a relatively short period, Skateboard GB has achieved remarkable progress. From meaningful grassroots growth to success on the world stage, the organisation has matured quickly while staying closely connected to the communities it represents. We are now building on that progress with confidence and intent - strengthening our governance, refining our systems and creating the conditions for long term, sustainable success, without losing what makes skateboarding unique.

Following a period of reflection and organisational redesign, Skateboard GB has sharpened its focus across both Performance and Community, invested in its people, and reaffirmed its commitment to values led leadership. The Board plays a vital role in stewarding this ambition - providing thoughtful challenge, strategic clarity and support as the organisation delivers the next phase of its long term strategy and continues to grow in scale, impact and influence.

The role – Senior INED
This is a pivotal Board level role, offering the opportunity to play a shaping part in Skateboard GB’s next chapter as it builds towards LA28 and beyond.

We are seeking an experienced Non Executive Director with a strong finance background to join the Board as Senior INED and Chair of the Finance & Risk Committee. This role provides independent advice, scrutiny and assurance across financial planning, reporting, forecasting and risk, supporting both the Chair and executive leadership team.

In this role, you will:
• Chair the Finance & Risk Committee
• Lead Board level oversight of financial sustainability and risk
• Act as a trusted sounding board to the Chair and CEO
• Bring calm, experienced judgement during moments of complexity or change

You will bring previous Board experience and a professional finance qualification, alongside a collaborative and values‑led approach. This role will suit someone experienced in mission‑led or public‑interest contexts, who enjoys helping organisations grow well - balancing ambition with stewardship, and challenge with support.

This is an opportunity to support an ambitious organisation at a pivotal moment, while remaining true to the individuality, creativity and community that define skateboarding.
