Sheffield United are looking for an experienced Head Chef to take responsibility for the daily preparation and service of meals for both players and staff. This role is central to creating a high-quality food provision that supports player health, recovery, and performance, while maintaining excellent standards of food hygiene and kitchen management.Working in collaboration with the Club's nutritionists, you will plan and deliver varied, nutritionally balanced menus, manage stock and suppliers, and ensure the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently. This position offers the opportunity to combine culinary expertise with sports performance, contributing directly to the wellbeing and preparation of elite athletes.Role Responsibilities:-To lead in the preparation and service of breakfast and lunch for all players and staff on a daily basis, in line with training schedules and business requirements, for the Club's First Team and Under-21s squad.-Oversee and assist with the planning and preparation of pre-match and post-match meals for players, when required.-Create varied and balanced weekly menus that meet the nutritional requirements of elite athletes, in liaison with the Club's nutritionists.-Ensure the quality and service of food provided is of an excellent standard and meets the needs of the business, including players and staff.-Ensure all food preparation is carried out in line with food standard requirements.-Perform and record daily hygiene checks and temperature logs.-Source, contact, and purchase food supplies and refreshments.-Manage stock rotation and follow correct storage procedures, ensuring quality and freshness.-Complete daily analysis of all stock levels.-Ensure all kitchen equipment, storerooms, and eating areas are kept clean and sanitised on a regular basis.-Liaise with other departments, such as Sports Science and Medical, if required, to ensure players are receiving optimal meals.-Carry out additional duties as reasonably requested by the Head of Women's Football.Club wide Responsibilities:-To adhere to all Sheffield United Football Club's Safeguarding Policies and Procedures to foster an environment which protects from harm those defined as children and adults at risk.-To report any concerns of a Safeguarding nature to the relevant parties and remain fully compliant with any applicable Safeguarding checks and due diligence and recognise your responsibility to the Club's Safeguarding agenda.-To report any concerns of discrimination to the relevant parties and promote a welcoming and inclusive club environment for all.-To adhere to the Club's Equality, Diversity and Inclusion policies, supporting the Club to create an environment which is inclusive and all-encompassing.-To carry out/take part in training requests as directed by the Club.Any other reasonable requests as directed by management.Essential Criteria for the Role:-Level 3 Food Hygiene Certification-Minimum of Level 3 City and Guilds in catering or equivalent-Up to date food hygiene qualification-FA Safeguarding Children-Proven experience as a Chef or similar-Experience within a hospitality environment-Experience of dealing with suppliers-Good knowledge of individual dietary requirements and how to best cater for them-Good knowledge of nutrition and diet to aid optimum performance-Excellent knowledge of environmental health and the understanding of safe working practices.Desirable Criteria for the Role:-Experience in an elite sport environment-HACCP & Food safety qualification How to apply Application Process Please download and save the application form before inputting information.
