All candidates will be considered equally for this role however we believe it's fantastic opportunity for a student completing their Sixth Form/A-Level studies this summer, now seeking to launch a rewarding career in IT.As an Apprentice IT Technician, you will embark on a Level 3 or Level 4 apprenticeship, choosing a suitable IT pathway from a selection of club-approved training providers that align with your specific learning interests. Additionally, as part of our commitment to nurturing talent and developing skillsets, upon completion of the course there is an opportunity for the position to be made a permanent role within the IT team. The vacancy will be advertised continuously, with interviews conducted on a rolling basis. We also are flexible with start dates, allowing the successful candidate to begin anytime from June to September, depending on their selected course dates.The successful candidate will ultimately play an important role in contributing to the smoother operation and development of our IT Infrastructure, as well as providing first class IT support across all areas of the club.Your Responsibilities Will Be:- Provide 1st line support via telephone, email and in-person to all stakeholders as required, liaising with the IT Department to ensure an efficient and timely resolution.- Monitor and maintain the IT Helpdesk, liaising directly with the IT Department and wider club staff to update them on the status of outstanding issues.- Support the IT Department in the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IT systems, including servers, networking infrastructure, end-user devices, operating systems, software and peripherals.- Keep current with the latest technologies.- Support the IT Department with technical projects where required.- Follow all IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, procurement, and service provision.- Ensure that all on-boarding and off-boarding processes are completed effectively, ensuring departmental technical and non-technical processes are followed at all times.- Ensure that all assets are correctly logged and documented in the club's asset management system.- Create and maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation on IT equipment and services for both end-users and the IT Department.- Drive own personal development and career progression, with knowledge and skill building through internal and external training.- Provide IT support for matchdays and major events hosted at Bramall Lane, as required.- Carry out any typical IT duties or other reasonable management requests as directed.- Ensure completion of any mandatory training required for the role, including internal club training around Safeguarding and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.Club Wide Responsibilities:- Adhere to all Sheffield United Football Club's Safeguarding Policies and Procedures to foster an environment which protects from harm those defined as children and adults at risk.- Report any concerns of a Safeguarding nature to the relevant parties and remain fully compliant with any applicable Safeguarding checks and due diligence and recognise your responsibility to the Club's Safeguarding agenda.- Report any concerns of discrimination to the relevant parties and promote a welcoming and inclusive club environment for all.- Adhere to the Club's Equality, Diversity and Inclusion policies, supporting the Club to create an environment which is inclusive and all-encompassing.- Any other reasonable requests as directed by managementPlease note: Due to lone working responsibilities and occasional out-of-hours duties, including matchdays and evening events, this role is only open to applicants aged 18 and over. This requirement is in place to comply with safeguarding and health & safety obligations.Our Essential criteria includes:Qualifications/Education:- 5 GCSEs including Math's, English and a Science or Technology-related subject- A Level, Level 3 BTEC or equivalent in a Science or Technology-related subjectExperience/Skills:- The ability to speak to people of all technical abilities using appropriate language accordingly.- Basic knowledge and experience with Windows, macOS and iOS devices, standard desktop and mobile applications.- Good problem-solving skills with a logic-based approach.- Basic knowledge of Microsoft 365 ecosystem including Teams and OneDrive.- Basic knowledge of computer networks and core networking principles- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.- The ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times.- A person-oriented approach with the ability to build a good rapport.- Process-driven approach to the completion of tasks.- Confident, Resilient and Self-Motivated- The ability to work in a fast-paced, target driven environment- The ability to prioritise and manage your own workload.Desirable Criteria for the Role:- The ability to create and maintain technical and non-technical documentation.- Basic understanding of Cyber Security and Data Protection concepts.- Full driving license and access to a vehicle (Travel between sites) How to apply Application Process Please download the application form on our website.
