This exciting opportunity calls for an established leader who will guide the SWPL to new heights, ensuring its continued growth and success while strengthening its role in wider football and sporting communities.About The RoleAs the Independent Non-Executive Chair you will work closely alongside the SWPL Managing Director to provide strategic leadership, oversee the governance of the SWPL, and contribute to the growth and development of women’s football in Scotland. You will work alongside a dedicated Board of Directors, Executive team and football stakeholders to drive forward key initiatives that support the league’s long-term sustainability, financial stability, and success.This is a non-executive position requiring exceptional governance, leadership, and strategic thinking to oversee the SWPL’s activities and future direction. You will play a pivotal role in influencing policy, ensuring robust decision-making, and enhancing the league’s reputation within Scottish football and beyond. In addition to attending circa. six Board meetings per year and twice-yearly General Meetings, the role of the Independent Non-Executive Chair will include sitting on:• Board Remuneration Committee• Other Sub Committees of the SWPL Board as required from time to time, such as to deal with issues such as rules breaches and disputesIt is estimated that the time commitment on average will be one day per fortnight.
