Job Description
Responsible to: Chief Executive Officer
Direct reports: National Club Managers (x3), National Community Impact Manager, jogscotland Programme Manager
Responsible for: Leading the effective delivery of the ‘Clubs and Pathways’ and ‘Community Impact and Health’ pillars of the scottishathletics strategy.

Key tasks will include:
• Leading, managing, and empowering the Development Team, utilising and managing available resources to grow the sport and enhance services to support the continued modernisation of athletics clubs.
• Accountability for the strategic objectives and delivery of annual plans for club development, recreational running, community impact and wider participation.
• Leading on the delivery of the National Facilities Strategy and jogscotland Programme Strategy.
• Working with the Paralympic Pathway Manager to oversee the delivery of strategic objectives and annual plans relating to the development of disability athletics.
• Ensuring appropriate systems are in place to monitor and evaluate progress against the strategic objectives and annual plans.
• Responsibility for the recruitment and retention of scottishathletics members, club affiliates and jogscotland members.
• Collaborating with, and supporting, the performance and coaching teams to evolve the athlete and coach pathways for athletics in Scotland.
• Setting, monitoring, and reviewing the annual budget for development and participation.
• Developing and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders in athletics and running in Scotland and across the U.K.
• Responsibility for leading on, and evidencing, the wider impact of athletics and running in Scotland.
• Attending all scottishathletics Board meetings, relevant UK-wide athletics working groups, and partnership meetings and events with sportscotland.
