JOB TITLE: Event Venues Manager

BASED: Hersham, Surrey KT12 3PW (travel is involved for events)

As we expand our reach and continue to build our team, we are looking for a passionate Venues Manager to join us on this exciting journey.

The Role:
We are looking for someone with a keen interest for running and events to join a passionate and growing company.

Job description:
As Event Venues Manager, you will be working directly with our event management team to deliver cutting-edge and professional mass-participation running events across the UK. You shall complete the daily tasks of event management to include, but not restricted to event planning and documentation, venue management, and ensuring high-standards are maintained in relation to the preparation and delivery of events.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Event Delivery:
- Collaborate with the event team to plan and execute events
- Assist in setting up, managing, and dismantling event sites, ensuring that all elements meet our high standards.
- Support with the delivery of events as a Course team lead on event days
- Riding a lead bike ahead of the lead runners on event days
- Interacting with the wider running community to enhance reputation and engagement
- Active participation in debriefs after events

Venue Management:
- Maintain and develop relationships with venues, councils, traffic management contractors etc
- Create and update event management plans, risk assessments, planning and briefing documents
- Complete relevant event applications, e.g. road closure applications
- Lead team planning and briefing meetings
- Overall responsibility for planning and briefing documents to ensure consistency across the board

Person Specification:
- The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in working in live events, an interest in running/sport and be a fast learner.
- They will be comfortable speaking to people from different industries, building relationships and developing relationships with new and existing stakeholders.

Essential:
- Able to work to strict deadlines and calm under pressure
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills
- Strong time management skills
- Ability to carry out manual tasks
- Desire to learn, develop and advance personal career prospects
- Passion for delivering faultless events with a customer-centric focus
- Willing to work on weekends on a rota basis (average of 2 weekends per month)
- Full UK Manual Driving Licence and willing to drive a van
- Keen eye for detail
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience, preferred)

Desirable:
- Experience working live events
- Keen interest in and knowledge of running and sport
- Experience of managing a small team
- Previous experience driving a van
- Personable and confident in social situations
- Strong organisational and multitasking abilities, with excellent problem-solving and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and remotely during the week
