Head of Medical - Rams Rugby Organisation Rams Rugby Salary Competitive, dependent on experience and scope Location Reading Contract type (Part time) Closing date 1 May 2026 Job Description Rams Rugby is seeking an experienced and proactive Head of Medical to lead and coordinate all medical provision across our senior performance programme.This is a key leadership role within the rugby department, responsible for ensuring player welfare, injury management, medical governance, and alignment with performance staff in a competitive semi-professional environment.The successful candidate will play a central role in creating a robust, professional, and athlete-centred medical programme that supports availability, performance, and long-term development.Key Responsibilities: - Lead all medical provision for the senior performance programme (training & matchday), including First Team and Development Team- Oversee injury assessment, diagnosis, rehabilitation, and return-to-play processes- Coordinate and manage medical practitioners, including staffing and rotas for training and home and away fixturesAct as the primary medical liaison with:- Director of Rugby & coaching staff- Strength & Conditioning department- External consultants and specialists- Maintain clear medical governance, documentation, and reporting standards- Provide regular injury and availability updates, including formal reporting to senior leadership / Board as required- Advise on player load, availability, and risk managementEnsure compliance with:- RFU medical standards- Safeguarding and duty-of-care requirements- Maintain the medical environment and processes to a professional standard- Support and encourage ongoing CPD within the medical teamWhat We Offer:- Opportunity to lead medical provision within a progressive and exciting rugby programme- Collaborative performance environment- Competitive remuneration (dependent on experience)- Scope to shape and develop medical systems and standards How to apply Please submit: - CV - Brief covering statement outlining relevant experience Applications to: seb.reynolds@ramsrugby.com Share X LinkedIn Email
