Portsmouth Women’s Football Club is seeking a dedicated and passionate Physiotherapist or Sports Therapist to join our Professional Game Academy (PGA) until 30 June 2026 on 15h per week contract. This is a unique opportunity to play a vital role in the development and well-being of our academy players by delivering expert medical care, rehabilitation, and injury prevention services.Your key responsibilities will include: • Deliver comprehensive physiotherapy and emergency medical cover to all PGA players.• Collaborate with the 1st Team Lead Physiotherapist to assess, treat, and rehabilitate injuries.• Maintain accurate and timely medical records, including use of Kitman Labs.• Assist with medical screenings and injury prevention programmes.• Support strength & conditioning plans in conjunction with the Physical Performance Coach.• Provide cover on training days and contribute to player medical education.• Communicate regularly with football and medical staff regarding player health.• Play an active role in multidisciplinary team meetings and recruitment decisions.What We’re Looking For:Essential Qualifications:• BSc/MSc in Physiotherapy or BSc in Sports Therapy• Current membership with CSP or a member HCPC or Society of Sports Therapy• In-date ITMMiF qualification (or willingness to complete ATMMiF – support provided)Desirable (not required but beneficial):• BSc in Sports Science• Familiarity with cardiology and orthopaedic screening protocols• Sports Massage, Acupuncture, or Spinal Manipulation skillsWhat You Bring:• Up-to-date knowledge of physiotherapy and injury management in women’s and girls’ football.• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with players and colleagues alike.• A collaborative mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.• Experience working in a multidisciplinary team.• Passion for athlete welfare, performance, and long-term player development.
