Communications Assistant (Intern) Organisation parkrun Global Limited Salary £24,500 Location Richmond (South West London) Contract type Paid Internship (Full time) Closing date 5 September 2025 Job Description Brief role description:The Communications Intern supports parkrun's external (participants) and internal (global staff/ambassadors) communications. The role also assists in the creation and distribution of engaging content in the form of social media posts, email marketing campaigns, press releases and newsletters. The Communications Intern is also responsible for writing and creating blog content that share case studies and promote parkrun's mission.Main responsibilities:Receive, create and distribute global newsletters to a number of parkrun territories in different languages, with the help of translation ambassadors.Design and distribute other external and internal emails for various teams across the organisation, including fundraising and retail.Liaise with case study contributors to gather stories and create engaging blog and social media content about their experiences.Develop evergreen blog content, such as list articles, top tips, and refreshed versions of existing posts.Proof-read short or long copy that will be used for any external communications (emails, newsletters, retail, press releases, blog posts, social media posts).Deliver monthly performance summaries on UK newsletters and blog content.Organise and regularly update the Communication photo library and marketing Flickr, so it reflects parkrun's commitment to inclusivity.Assist the Social Media Manager in scheduling social media posts and replying to messages.Essential experience requirements:N/ADesirable experience requirements:Experience in the charity sector.Experience in social media management.Experience in creating written content.Experience in content management systems.Professional certification requirements:N/AMost relevant skills:Attention to detail: Meticulous with a sharp eye for detail and accuracyCommunication: Able to convey and share ideas clearly, concisely and accurately, both verbally and in writing.Initiative: Able to be proactive, take initiative and take steps to improve ways of working seeking support where necessary.Organisation: Able to determine goals and priorities and to accurately assess the actions, time and resources needed to achieve those goals.Priority Management: Able to manage multiple projects and campaigns simultaneously and work to tight deadlines.Teamwork: Able to work well with others in multiple situations to achieve a shared goal.Able to use a variety of IT systems and tools, such as google workspace.Demonstrates high levels of discretion and confidentiality.Demonstrates a growth mindset, with a desire to improve and learn new skills.
