We want to support and provide opportunities for everyone to enjoy and realise their potential within all aspects of paddling regardless of their age, background or ability.

Department: Talent Programme
Reports to: Slalom Junior Pathway Lead
Location: Paddle UK Offices, National Water Sports Centre, Holme Pierrepoint, Nottingham
Working Pattern: Full time, 37 hours per week (including occasional evenings and weekends). Part-time working options are available for this role.

Closing date: 23 February 2026
Interview dates: w/c 2 March 2026

The Role

The Slalom Talent Administration Officer will be part of the England Slalom Talent Programme. Our programme purpose is to support talented athletes, coaches and clubs to be the best they can be, to support success in paddling, and ultimately leave all those who pass through the programme as better, more rounded individuals.

We are looking for a highly organised and proactive administrator to support the England Talent Team and play a key role in the delivery of our Slalom Talent Programme.

This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of a performance pathway, providing high-quality operational, organisational and logistical support that enables coaches to focus on performance delivery and helps athletes realise their full potential.

You will be central to the smooth running of camps, competitions and programme activity — ensuring the right information, people and resources are in place at the right time.

Key Responsibilities

● Lead and proactively facilitate programme administrative and operational processes, and (at points) support set-up and de-rigging of activity.
● Oversee bookings, logistics and budget administration for domestic and international training camps, races and programme activity, including preparation of trip packs.
● Coordinate annual and ongoing administration processes such as squad qualification administration, annual reviews, performance data capture and sending out monthly newsletters.
● Provide communications and administrative support for Slalom Schools, England White Water Camps, Slalom Start and the Club Support Scheme.
● Coordinate the programme’s engagement with key partners and stakeholders including TASS, Sports Aid and Backing the Best.
● Develop and deliver the England Talent Parent Programme and associated resources, working with contributors aligned to programme strategy.
● Organise the ordering and distribution of kit for staff, maintain up to date stock records.
● Support the recruitment, deployment and administration of the Psychology placement programme.
● Support the administration of associated safety management processes and controls that govern programme provision.
● Provide project support to the Slalom Junior Pathway Lead to help deliver on the wider objectives of the team.

About You

You’ll be someone who thrives on organisation, detail and making things happen behind the scenes. You enjoy supporting others, juggling priorities and keeping complex programmes running smoothly.

Essential skills and experience

● Strong organisational, planning and prioritisation skills
● Good IT skills, including Excel and Google applications
● Ability to manage a varied workload while maintaining attention to detail
● Flexible, solutions-focused and able to think creatively
● Able to work under pressure, make effective decisions and meet deadlines
● Strong communication skills, adapting your approach to different audiences
● Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
● GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths
● UK driving licence and ability to travel independently

Desirable skills and experience

● Experience of working within the sporting sector
● Experience of working with volunteers
● Educated to degree level or equivalent

What We’re Looking For

We value people who:

● Take a collaborative, team-focused approach
● Build positive relationships with partners, stakeholders and volunteers
● Show initiative and a “can do” attitude
● Stay calm and adaptable in a changing environment
● Take ownership of their development and performance

We recognise the contribution our employees make and think these benefits reflect our appreciation:

● Hybrid working - 2 days a week in the office
● 25 days annual leave, plus bank holidays
● Dress for your day (jeans acceptable)
● Free onsite parking and bike storage
● Company pension scheme
● Employee benefits platform (including Bike to Work, Health and Wellbeing and discounts)
