Job Description
About Us

Paddle UK is the Governing Body for Paddlesports. We have had many advances in our sport, and paddling now covers a wide range of interests and passions as a sport and a leisure activity for all. We want to support and provide opportunities for everyone to enjoy and realise their potential within all aspects of paddling, regardless of their age, background or ability.

Salary: Competitive
Work Location: National Water Sports Centre, Nottingham
Working Hours: The role requires flexibility to work unsociable hours, including weekends, as well as the ability to travel and spend extended periods abroad
Closing Date: Midday, Thursday 10th July 2025
Interview Date: 17th July 2025, with a second stage on 30th July 2025
Interview Location: Paddle UK, National Water Sports Centre, Holme Pierrepont, Nottingham, NG12 2LU

The Role

We have ambitious goals for our Canoe Sprint and Paracanoe World-Class Programme – delivering medal-winning performances at World Cups, European and World Championships, and the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Our success is built on a thriving pathway, a connected community, and a commitment to excellence in everything we do.

We’re looking for a Performance Director to lead this journey. You’ll oversee a performance budget of approximately £7.5 million across the LA Olympic cycle and manage a talented team of six direct reports.

We are seeking an engaging, committed, and creative leader with:

- A deep understanding of high-performance sport
- Significant pathway development experience
- Proven ability to lead cultural change
- A strong track record of operating at a strategic leadership level
- Empathy, humility, and emotional intelligence
