Performance therapist Organisation Nuneaton RFC Salary To be discussed Location Nuneaton, Warwickshire Contract type Fixed Term (Part time) Closing date 31 July 2025 Job Description The Performance Therapist will work closely with the team of therapists and coaching staff to manage and enhance player welfare and performance. The role is hands-on, dynamic, and key to the club’s success on and off the pitch.Who This Role Would Suit:This opportunity is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career sports therapist/ rehabber/ physiotherapist eager to gain practical, hands-on experience in a rugby environment. You’ll be supported by an experienced team and work closely with coaches and players.Key Responsibilities:• Conduct clinical assessments, design and deliver effective treatment plans for injured players.• Deliver and monitor clinic, gym-based and on-pitch rehabilitation programmes.• Provide pre-match preparation including manual therapy and taping. • Provide pitch-side first aid during training and matches.• Collaborate with therapists and coaches to deliver injury risk reduction practices, including player screening and profiling.Requirements:• Relevant degree in Sports and Exercise Therapy, Sports Rehabilitation or Physiotherapy.• Registration with a relevant professional body (e.g. SST, BASRaT, CSP)• Valid First Aid certificate.• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.• Availability for evening training sessions and matchdays (typically weekends).Desirable:• Trauma qualification (e.g. RFU PHICIS level 2 or equivalent).• Experience in sports injury management, ideally in a rugby or contact sport setting.• Experience in athletic taping.• Experience in pitch side first aid.• Passion for rugby and commitment to player development.What We Offer:• This is a paid position with a fixed fee per session (training and matchday), discussed during the interview process.• Opportunity to work with an experienced, driven and committed team. • Access to club facilities.• An opportunity to develop your professional and therapeutic skills.• The chance to make a real impact in a community-focused rugby club.
