Job Description
Notts Gymnastics Academy (NGA) is looking for a proactive, organised and member-focused Membership Development Manager to lead the development of our membership systems and processes and to support the delivery of an outstanding experience for our members across Participation and Performance programmes.

This is a key role within a growing charitable organisation that reaches over 1,500 participants each week and continues to expand its offer and impact within the community.

About the Role

Notts Gymnastics Academy is a large and ambitious charitable organisation dedicated to providing high-quality gymnastics opportunities for all. The Membership Development Manager will have accountability for the Academy’s membership management platform, ensuring it is fully optimised, user-friendly and aligned with organisational policies, processes and procedures.

Working closely with the Participation Director, the role will lead system improvements and play a central role in any future transition to a new membership platform. You will line manage two Administration team members and hold responsibility for ensuring effective membership stewardship, strong financial controls, and excellent member engagement across all membership touchpoints.

This role requires a confident systems thinker with strong people management skills, financial awareness and a passion for improving customer experience.

Your responsibilities will include:

Driving continuous improvement of the Academy’s membership management platform and processes.

Alongside the Participation Director, leading the planning and implementation of any transition to a new membership system.

Line managing and supporting two Administration team members to deliver high-quality member services.

Holding overall accountability for membership communications and membership queries.

Overseeing key membership processes including waitlists, new starters and class moves.

Leading staff training to ensure effective use of the membership system during sessions.

Maintaining oversight of membership data, KPIs and platform performance, reporting regularly to the Participation Director.

Holding financial accountability for membership income, including fee collection, reconciliation and monitoring against agreed targets.

Ensuring compliance with GDPR, safeguarding and data protection requirements.

Promoting NGA’s values and contributing to a positive, professional and member-focused culture.

We’re seeking a Membership Development Manager with:

Essential

Proven experience in membership administration, systems management, operations or a similar role.

Experience managing or developing membership management platforms or databases.

Experience line managing or supervising staff.

Strong organisational and process improvement skills with excellent attention to detail.

Financial awareness, including fee management, reconciliation or income monitoring.

Confident communication skills with a strong customer service focus.

Ability to manage competing priorities and work to deadlines.

High level of IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office and membership or CRM systems.

Desirable

Experience leading or supporting a system implementation or platform transition.

Experience working in a charity, sport, education or child-focused environment.

Experience producing KPI reports and supporting senior leadership decision-making.

Knowledge of membership platforms.

Why Join Us?

At NGA, you’ll have the opportunity to shape and improve how thousands of members engage with our organisation. You’ll play a key role in strengthening systems, improving experiences and supporting the continued growth of one of the UK’s largest Gymnastics for All programmes.

With a supportive leadership team, modern facilities and the chance to make a meaningful impact through sport, this is an exciting opportunity to be part of a values-driven organisation.
