Job Description
PURPOSE:
The Match Day & Event Coordinator is responsible for ensuring all match day and event staffing and contractor requirements are effectively planned, booked, and coordinated to support safe and compliant event delivery. The role manages the casual workforce and in house training provision, ensuring all personnel are appropriately trained, accredited, and resourced to deliver high quality match days and events.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Match Day & Event Resourcing - Coordinate the booking and deployment of all casual match day and event staff, including stewards, turnstile operatives, car park teams, and agency personnel. Ensure appropriate staffing levels are achieved in line with event plans, risk assessments, and safety requirements. Act as the primary point of contact for casual staff and agencies regarding availability, briefing, and deployment.
Contractor & Supplier Coordination - Manage the booking and coordination of event related contractors, including medical services, maintenance, IT, cleaning, traffic management, and other specialist providers. Ensure contractors are scheduled in accordance with event requirements and venue operating procedures. Maintain records of contractor accreditation, certifications, and compliance documentation.
Training & Training centre - Manage the in house training centre and training programme for match day staff. Ensure all match day personnel hold the correct level of training, certification, and competency for their role. Coordinate inductions, refresher training, and role specific training in line with safety, licensing, and organisational requirements. Maintain accurate training records to support audits, inspections, and event assurance.
Event Readiness & Delivery Support - Support event planning by providing staffing and training input to match day and event operational meetings and plans. Assist with preparation of pre event briefings and ensure staff are appropriately briefed, deployed, and supported on event days. Provide on the ground support during events to resolve resourcing and deployment issues as they arise.
Administration - Maintain systems, rotas, and records relating to staff bookings, training, and event deployment. Support post event reviews by capturing feedback relating to staffing, training, and contractor performance. Identify opportunities to improve workforce planning, training effectiveness, and operational efficiency.
Efficiencies and automated systems- In addition, the role will assist the Operations Manager in the selection and implementation of a new system to automate match day staff booking and rostering, improving operational efficiency, accuracy, and workforce oversight.

- Strong organisation and planning skills.
- Clear and confident communication, especially when briefing staff.
- Able to stay calm and make decisions under pressure.
- Good attention to detail for rotas, records, and compliance.
- Confident using IT systems, databases, and scheduling tools.
- Professional, calm, and reliable during busy or challenging situations.
- Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and match days when required
- Safety focused, proactive, and willing to improve processes.
- Positive, team orientated attitude with strong customer and staff focus.
