You will be confident in considering and applying appropriate health & safety requirements (in line with British Gymnastics recommendations). We are looking for ambitious, capable, resilient, and driven individuals who can help us realise our vision for our gym’s.Person SpecificationYou will take ownership of a rapidly developing team & support Nile Wilson Gymnastics with their future vision. You will be an experienced gymnastics coach (minimum Level 2) with the ability to confidently lead and inspire both your colleagues and gymnasts. A level of administrative experience is required, and you will be confident communicating both in person and via video chat / telephone. A key element of your role will be to compose work schedules / timetables for staffing and administrate day to day staffing requests. Positive, enthusiastic and engaging, you will be an excellent role model with a commitment to improve, develop & lead while working closely with the management team.Role and ResponsibilitiesTo work with the Regional Head Coach to determine the structure and content of the identified programme(s)Support in the production & maintenance of session plansCoordination & delivery of the awards scheme. Including periodic reviewsResponsible for all staff coaching observations, reviews, development and supportAssist RHC in the planning and delivery of club competitions and eventsOrganise coaches time sheets and annual leave allocationSupport the annual evaluation & review of programme content and class range, with the RHC, Ops Lead, and department leadsWorking with the Regional Head Coach to determine the frequency and timing of classes required at each level and allocate coachesOrganisation of all school holiday timetables and allocationTo work with the Regional Head Coach to identify & manage gymnasts as candidates to transition across programmesTo take an active coaching role, including a significant regular timetable of coaching and leading classes within the identified programme(s), providing cover for absent coaches where neededSupport the induction, training and development of new coaches is planned and deliveredResponsible for overseeing cover on a weekly basis for all sessions across the programmesTo take an active approach to liaising with parents both verbally and in writingTo manage concerns, queries or issues raised by gymnasts, parents, coaches or visitors which relate to the recreational programme with assistance from the senior leadership team where requiredTo support the overall growth and development of the organisation by taking an active role as part of the leadership team. Contributing to all aspects of club development and undertaking additional identified responsibilities where reasonably requested by the Regional Head CoachTo safeguard the welfare of all gymnasts and coaches and to take all reasonable steps to minimise the risk of accident or injuryTogether with the operations Lead, liase with the club Welfare officer to ensure best practice and relevant safeguarding information is sharedTo check that equipment is safe, stable and adequately matted before useTo take an active approach in developing technical knowledge and coaching skills and to ensure that techniques and progressions used are up to date, by taking opportunities to attend training and development activities and to observe and work with other coachesTo assist with our wider vision of promoting and furthering gymnastics in the club at all levelsAct as a First Aid leadTo become familiar with and adhere to the policies and procedures contained in the Coaches Handbook and Staff Handbook for non-coaching staffTo play an active role in the upkeep, maintenance and overall cleanliness of the clubsTo plan and deliver daily huddles to the team, as well as regular catch ups with coaches on an individual basisTo drive the culture of the team in line with the organisational culture and lead by exampleSkills & QualificationsEssentialMinimum Level 2 British Gymnastics General/Gymnastics for all qualifications or equivalent.Ideally you will have experience of coaching within a general gymnastics environment, working with pre-school and senior gymnasts, from beginner to intermediate level.Proven ability to work with, inspire and motivate all levels and ages of gymnast.Proven ability to work with, inspire and motivate the coaching team.Ability and flexibility to cover additional sessions when required e.g. holiday programme.Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.Adhere to and lead on our safeguarding and child protection policies.All applicants will be required to provide / undertake: Relevant First Aid & Child protectionQualifications & will be subject to Enhanced DBS checks.Licence/Certification: British Gymnastics Qualification - Minimum Level 2 (required) How to apply Please email your application to careers@nilewilsongymnastics.com, and a member of the careers team will be in touch.
