Job Description
Netball Scotland’s Strategic Plan Destination 2027 (D27) aims to increase the reach and visibility of netball across Scotland and improve the financial sustainability of Netball Scotland through increasing revenue generated through targeted and relevant products, activities and events.

The Role:
The National Development Manager (NDM): Senior Clubs and Participation will have ownership, accountability, and responsibility for leading the successful delivery of national projects, activities, events and support senior clubs and local associations, which aim to increase the reach and visibility of the breadth of Netball Scotland’s ambitions, from grassroots to performance pathways to the national team, delivering increased revenue for the organisation.

Reporting to the Director of Development, the NDM: Senior Clubs & Participation will deliver Netball Scotland’s Corporate strategy and work with the wider team to activate the Growth strategy.

Strategic Priorities:
• Lead on the planning and delivery of national development projects which support Netball Scotland’s strategic priorities.
• Lead on the continued development and implementation of Netball Scotland’s Club Development Framework and embedded Thistle Mark Accreditation Scheme to support and empower Clubs to grow, develop and plan.

Operational Priorities:
• Line-manage, lead and motivate a high performing team of Development Officers responsible for facilitating growth and development of identified Local Associations, affiliated Clubs and associated partners.
• Work collaboratively with lead for Membership to utilise data, trend analysis and insights to effectively plan and forecast operational plans and KPIs in line with annual budget and operational planning process.
• Regularly review plans to ensure objectives are being delivered, and to ensure activity is effective and impactful.
• Be the lead contact for NS for a portfolio of local authority partners.
• Represent NS at Local, Regional & National Forums.
• Prepare informative reports for the Board, CEO, Director of Development, and other key partners/stakeholders against key performance indicators as required.
• Strive to deliver a culture of continuous improvement, operational excellence and purpose driven approach across the department and workforce.
• Support NS’s internal and external Equality Groups to achieve the priorities outcomes to change lives and reduce inequalities.

Club Development
• Lead the activation of Senior Club Development Plans, embedding processes and procedures, developing workshops and resources to meet requirements and empowering Clubs to become thriving, sustainable, organised, inclusive, and ambitious.
• Deliver, implement and activate the Growth Strategy and Participation Strategy to increase membership, engagement & participation supporting delivery of NS organisational priorities.
• Lead the growth and development of RecNet and Walking Netball clubs
• Work collaboratively with the NDM (Education & Workforce) to ensure appropriate education and training provision is delivered to support growth and development of Local Associations and Senior Clubs.
• Work collaboratively with the NDM (Education & Workforce) to activate the Volunteer Strategy across Local Associations & Senior Clubs.
• Identify, bid for, and implement grant funding opportunities to support new and/or existing programmes.

Sustainable Financial Model
• Accountability and responsibility for allocated budgets.
• Maintain solid financial planning, budgetary systems and controls to ensure the organisation’s objectives, Projects and Annual Operational Plan are delivered within allocated budgets.

• Other duties as may reasonably be required by the business.
