Job Description: Nestled in the heart of Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, Plas y Brenin is more than an outdoor centre, it's 'the home of the outdoors. As a national training hub for mountaineering, climbing, hillwalking, paddlesports, and mountain biking, we host events that unite outdoor enthusiasts and foster a sense of community in nature.
Operated by the charity Mountain Training Trust, Plas y Brenin is seeking passionate individuals to join our Boards and help guide the development of this unique centre. Successful candidates will become part of a collaborative team of volunteers, supporting our mission and ensuring long-term impact.
We’re particularly looking for individuals with governance or senior leadership experience in the following areas:
Hospitality - Help us adapt and grow our bar, restaurant and bed and breakfast businesses to support our charitable objectives.
Premises Management - Help us manage a big investment programme to keep our premises safe and fit for the future.
Fundraising - Help us build our fundraising capacity to broaden our income base.
Finance management and contractor value delivery - Boost our board capabilities in financial scrutiny, risk management and contract control.
Safeguarding - Take a lead role overseeing the development of our Safeguarding capability.
