Job Description
Location: Motorsport UK, Bicester Motion



Hours of Work: Full Time (37.5 hours per week). Core hours are 09:00 until 17:30, Mon – Fri. 4 days on site, 1 remote.



Join Our Team as a HR Advisor at Motorsport UK!



Motorsport UK is dedicated to fostering and sustaining a high-performance culture through the effective delivery of a cohesive HR strategy.



Reporting to the HR & Operations Director, the HR Advisor will deliver a comprehensive end-to-end HR service, encompassing recruitment, onboarding, training, HR administration, employee relations and payroll.



The successful candidate will be a well-rounded HR generalist with a broad understanding across all areas of the HR function.



Primary Objectives



To act as the primary point of contact and / or support at Motorsport UK for all Human Resource and people matters.


Additional Responsibilities

In addition to the primary objectives listed above, the HR Advisor will be responsible for:



Culture, Values and Behaviours



Support the business in enhancing and further developing its culture, values, and behaviours.
Run people processes and procedures that fully align with the values.
Be a role model and guardian of the behaviours and support to ensure they reflect them in their teams and as individuals.
Undertake exit interviews and use themes to improve the workplace.


Recruitment and Talent Management



Support managers in the end to end recruitment process; including interviews and providing management training.
Support and run an onboarding process that ensures new people are productive and fully engaged as soon as possible.


Performance and Development



Continue to develop the organisation’s performance management process, ensuring that all employees have appropriate goals aligned to the organisation’s strategy.
Support managers in managing performance issues within their teams.
Create appropriate careers pathways / opportunities across the business.
Help to run the learning, development, and training programmes for employees that align with the business needs.
Manage and promote the online learning and development hub.


Communication and Staff Wellbeing



Carry out annual people surveys to track progress on engagement and to feed into ongoing people plans.
Oversee employee safety, wellness, welfare, health, and happiness and appropriate policies and programmes.
Assist with company-wide communications and management of social committees and staff committees.
Review company communication effectiveness and implement and maintain effective communication channels at all levels.
Help to support our well-being agenda (e.g., Mental Health awareness, healthy living etc.).


Employee Relations



Manage employee relations including dispute resolutions, disciplinaries and grievances, absence, retirement, and redundancy alongside the HR & Operations Director.
Act as the confidential escalation point for any employee issues.
Maintain the relationship with external legal providers.


Reward and Recognition



Manage relationships with external reward and benefits providers.
Help with the financial and non-financial recognition schemes that support the company’s behaviours.
In conjunction with the finance function and remuneration committee, manage the annual pay review process.


HR Basics



Act as the primary administrator of the organisation’s online People Management System (“Bob”), using the platform to automate as many manual processes as possible and provide high levels of self service to management and employees.
Assist with drafting and management of all employment contracts and associated employee letters.
In conjunction with the Finance team, manage the payroll and pension as well as assisting with employee tax and other compliance matters.
With the finance department, maintain one source of accurate people data.
Ensure compliance across all employment-related legislation.
Work with the HR & Operations Director to continue the development of the organisation’s secure central intranet.


Core Competencies

Below are the core competencies, knowledge, and skills required to be successful in this role:



CIPD at a minimum of Level 3 is essential
+2 years of working at an advisory level within a professional organisation
Understanding of motorsport is not essential but would be advantageous.
Able to communicate at all levels, internally and externally with board members, committees and the community.
Strong administration skills and accuracy with personnel documentation.
Experience of end to end employee relations case management
Authorisation to work within the UK.
