Location: Motorsport UK, Bicester Motion



Hours of Work: Full Time (37.5 hours per week). Core hours are 09:00 until 17:30, Mon – Fri. 4 days on site, 1 remote.



Join Our Team as a Sporting Assistant at Motorsport UK!



The Sporting Department at Motorsport UK plays a key role in facilitating a safe, fair, and fun experience for the motorsport community. This involves ensuring the governance and regulations of the sport are relevant and suitable, as well as reviewing the current landscape of participation, with a view to encouraging greater and sustained enjoyment.



The Sporting Assistant will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day functioning of the Sporting department, placing a particular emphasis on supporting the continued success of motorsport in the UK.



Primary Objectives

The primary objectives associated with this role will be:



Providing administrative, logistical, and organisational support to the Sporting department with a particular emphasis on the Rally and Clubsport disciplines (Autotest, Cross Country, Trials), and the Competition Authorisation Office.
Assist with the administration and maintenance of Championship databases, issuing Championship permits, and liaising with championship stakeholders.
Working with the Sporting team to schedule, attend, and prepare agendas for meetings; take minutes and circulate actionable summaries.
Assist regulatory committees and panels with documentation and proposals.
Assist with creating and editing presentations and documents aligned with strategic goals.
Providing excellent customer service to Motorsport UK registered clubs, regulatory committees, and stakeholders as appropriate.


Additional Responsibilities

In addition to the primary objectives listed above, the Sporting Assistant will provide support and assistance for:



Monitoring and responding to queries posted to the Rally and Clubsport mailboxes
Dealing with correspondence and general telephone queries
Reviewing feedback from Stewards reports and other reporting channels, and the allocation of any necessary actions to the appropriate internal colleagues for resolution
Assisting and supporting the administration of Championship Regulations and Notice of Intents
Provide support with the administration of Radio License renewals
Provide administration support for the Competition Authorisation Office.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills for professional correspondence
Attention to detail with high accuracy in documentation and data handling
Disciplined time management and organisational skills, with an ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines with stakeholders
A flexible, collaborative approach to problem solving
Innovative approach to processes and operations to improve both efficiency and effectiveness
Ability to work independently and strongly collaborate within a team
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, SharePoint, and PowerPoint
The ability to travel to and from the Motorsport UK offices in Bicester, Oxfordshire
Eligible to work in the UK.


Desirable



Prior experience (either working or competing) and knowledge of a motorsport discipline, as well as a passion for motorsport in general
Familiarity with the governance of UK Motorsport and the Motorsport UK National Competition Rules (NCR).
