Outdoor Education Instructor Organisation Millfield School Salary £14,117.11 per annum Location Street, Somerset Contract type Permanent (Part time) Closing date 26 July 2026 Job Description Millfield School is seeking a proactive and experienced Outdoor Education Instructor to join our dynamic Outdoor Education Department.This is a varied and hands-on role delivering a wide range of outdoor activities to pupils, supporting expeditions, and contributing to the organisation and smooth running of the programme.The RoleYou will support the delivery and organisation of a wide range of outdoor education activities, including:• Delivering weekly outdoor education sessions, including afternoons, evenings and weekends• Supporting and leading expeditions in the UK and overseas• Coordinating a level of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (Silver or Gold), supporting students throughout their journey• Managing activity administration, including risk assessments, off-site paperwork and pupil records• Maintaining and preparing outdoor equipment, ensuring high health and safety standards• Supporting the organisation and smooth running of the Outdoor Education programmeAbout You• Qualified Summer Mountain Leader and Outdoor First Aid holder• Duke of Edinburgh Award Accredited Assessor• Proven experience working with young people in an outdoor setting• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a varied workload• Confident communicator, able to engage students, parents and colleagues• Reliable, adaptable and able to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends and residential trips• A team player with a positive, proactive approachWorking hours and salaryThis is a part time, permanent role working an average of 25 hours per week, across term time plus 6 additional weeks outside of term.
