Rugby Development Coach Organisation Millfield School Salary £12.71 per hour Location Street, Somerset Contract type Permanent (Full time) Closing date 15 May 2026 Job Description Millfield is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Rugby Development Coach to join our Rugby Department and play a key role in developing male and female rugby players between the ages of 13 to 18, within the Millfield Rugby pathway.Key Responsibilities• Coach designated Millfield rugby teams and deliver high quality sessions in line with the Millfield Rugby development programme• Support the identification, development and progression of players across a range of ages and abilities, providing clear feedback and development guidance• Use performance analysis tools and appropriate technology to enhance player development• Communicate effectively and build strong working relationships with players, parents and colleagues across sport, academic and pastoral areas of the School• Attend fixtures, tournaments, festivals and tours, including residential and overnight commitments where required• Contribute to Millfield rugby activities for two weeks during non-term timeAbout YouYou will be a committed and professional coach who brings energy, expertise and a genuine passion for player development. You will have:• A degree in sports coaching, sports science, physical education or a related discipline• Proven experience coaching rugby within a school, club or recognised development pathway• A recognised RFU Level 2 coaching qualification (or equivalent) or higher• Strong technical and tactical knowledge of rugby and a commitment to continuous professional development• The ability to plan and adapt sessions for players of varying ages and abilities• Excellent communication, organisation and teamwork skillsExperience coaching female rugby players, refereeing, coaching a second sport, managing tours or competitions, or using performance analysis systems would be advantageous but is not essential.Working Hours and SalaryThis is a term-time plus two weeks role, working 42 hours per week, typically across Monday to Saturday, with occasional Sunday work required to support fixtures, tournaments or events.The salary for this position is £24,000 per annum (inclusive of holiday pay).Application closing date: Noon, 15th MayMillfield School is committed to providing a safe and inclusive environment for all.
