Job Description
Macclesfield Hockey Club is a developing club looking to take the next steps towards becoming a permanent fixture in the highest leagues in the NW Hockey league structure. Home to the EH team of the year in 2024 and coach of the year in 2025, we already have a solid foundation of success and enthusiasm for sustaining it.
This coming season we are looking to recruit a lead coach for our men’s 1st XI, who are back playing in Division One of the North West league structure and are looking to make a swift return to the Premier League.
Job Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and passionate coach, who has a proven track record in hockey and can communicate effectively with all players. This role may also be open to player-coaches from applicants with high performance playing backgrounds.

As head coach for the Men’s team you will be able to:
• Plan, structure and run training sessions to benefit the men’s 1st and 2nd team
• Attend all men’s 1st team games
• Provide feedback to all players in the training group to help them develop
• Work alongside the existing structure of captains, club committee and coaches to support club development and performance
• Install a positive and nurturing environment within training sessions and match day team

Qualifications and Qualities
• Previous coaching experience at a similar level
• Relevant coaching qualifications, level 2 or equivalent (EH Hockey Coach), alongside first aid, safeguarding etc.
• Approachable and open
• Ability to work with players of all ages and abilities in the training group
