Contract type Fixed Term (Part time) Closing date 11 May 2025 Interview date 26 May 2025 Job Description London Titans Wheelchair Basketball Club is the largest wheelchair basketball club in the south of England. We are dedicated to promoting inclusive sport and developing players of all levels and field teams in the British Wheelchair Basketball League within all divisions, as well as in the Women’s and Junior Leagues.We are passionate about providing high-quality coaching to our players; the coaching team at London Titans combine a strong background in wheelchair basketball and performance environments, along with a commitment to player development.The role will be to coach the Division 3 National League Team with the potential to assist with coaching within higher divisions. We are looking for someone who is passionate about developing our player’s skills and committed to guiding a team through an entire season. The role is varied and will entail planning and delivering a training program for the team. The right candidate will have exceptional interpersonal and organisational skills with the ability to teach skills and the rules of the game to players with varied abilities and understanding of wheelchair basketball. The coach will also be responsible for ensuring player availability for matches, communicating with and ensuring players have the correct and necessary information for training and matches.Alongside coaching of the Division 3 team there are opportunities to develop skills in planning and delivering training programs, building and maintaining relationships, providing constructive feedback and ensuring the well-being and safety of members. Key Responsibilities: - Lead the planning and delivery of training sessions for the London Titans National League Division 3 team.- Provide coaching for all matches and training for the Division 3 team.- Report quarterly to the committee regarding team updates or feedback.- Adopt a person-centered approach to athlete development within the team.- To observe and adhere to all London Titans policies and procedures, including the Code of Conduct and safeguarding policy. Person Specification - Strong leadership: able to lead and deliver training sessions- Clear communication: able to communicate clearly and confidently with the ability to adapt communication to athletes of all ages and abilities- Systematic organisation and planning: able to plan training sessions and game day tactics- Reliable time management: able to meet deadlines and communicate in a timely manner with players, the London Titans coaching team and committee members- Dedicated and commitment: able to attend training sessions and matches for the Division 3 teamEssential Experience & Knowledge- Prior experience of coaching wheelchair basketball, preferably within one of BWB’s leagues- Understand the need to respect confidentiality, as required- Understanding and managing issues affecting players of different skill levels and abilitiesEssential Behaviours- Committed to planning and delivering training sessions and match day coaching for the Division 3 team- Flexibility and adaptability to changing situations and environments- Empathy to appropriately react to any situation presented to youQualifications- Level 2 Wheelchair Basketball Qualification or higher- BWB Coaching License- UK Anti-doping Clean Coach Training*- UK Coaching Safeguarding & Protecting Children workshop or equivalent* Required Availability - The applicant must be available for the national league season which runs from September 2025 to May 2026, including League finals in mid-May 2026.The successful applicant will be expected to attend the Division 3 weekly training and matches. Training for the team takes place on Saturday afternoons at Aspire Leisure Centre, Stanmore. Matches take place on Saturday's and Sunday's at various locations throughout the south of England. There may also be an opportunity to attend and coach at other training sessions throughout the week, as deemed appropriate by the wider coaching team.*These are essential to obtain a BWB coaching license.
