Job Description

Job purpose:
To support the coordination and administration of opportunities for the college community to engage in high quality and wide-ranging sporting activities.

Main Responsibilities:

Coordinate and contribute, as required, to the effective administration and development of our sports offer, including:
• Create and update electronic sports registers to monitor participation in sports sessions and events.
• Prepare kit and equipment for sports sessions and events.
• Coordinate a programme of fitness centre inductions for students.
• Maintain the membership database of fitness centre users and ensure appropriate record keeping processes are in place for PAR-Qs and associated documents.
• Ensure daily health and safety checks of the college’s fitness centre are completed.
• Ensure monthly maintenance of the fitness centre equipment is completed, as per the manufacturer’s guidelines.
• Assist with the collection and collation of qualitative and quantitative data relating to student participation in sport sessions and events.
• Provide the main point of contact for enquiries at the sports reception desk.
• Develop, maintain and update the sports website and social media channels.
• Liaise with the Sports Coordinators to assist with administrative tasks related to sports fixture organisation.
• Liaise with the Community Sports staff to assist with administration tasks relative to the community sports programme.

Other Responsibilities
• Contribute to the coaching and delivery of sports and physical activity sessions as part of an on-going physical activity and wellbeing programme.
• Ensure regular health and safety checks are carried out on the college’s sports facilities and equipment.
• Support the development of projects and events targeting participation from specific student groups who are underrepresented in college sport.
• Provide cover for the wider sports team as required.

• Maintain confidentiality and observe data protection and associated guidelines where appropriate.
• Comply with health and safety regulations associated with the post and employment at the College.
• Undertake any staff development (INSET/CPD) relevant to the needs of the post.

• Contribute to the college’s quality improvement framework through participation in appraisal and performance review.
• Understand, comply and promote college policies in own area of work, and undertake any appropriate training to assist this process.

• Carry out any other duties commensurate with the grade and general responsibilities of the post.

Other Information

Contract/Hours: This is a permanent full-time post.
The post holder may be required to carry out some weekend and evening work to provide cover for the sports team and facilities.

You will provide data management and administrative support to the sports team and contribute to the coaching and delivery of sports sessions. You should have excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills. The ability to work in a supportive and patient manner is equally important to the role.
