Job Description
Join our friendly team to help deliver high-quality swimming lessons to pupils of all ages while supporting the smooth day-to-day running of a busy school pool. This hands-on role combines coaching, lifeguarding, including maintaining water quality, ensuring cleanliness, and assisting with external bookings and events. Working primarily during the school day during term time.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage, in conjunction with the Pool Manager, the maintenance of the pool: checking water quality and correcting chemical levels and filters to ensure optimum pool water quality to include skimming, backwash procedures.

Lifeguard sessions as required for groups within the school and external
Assist the Pool Manager by ensuring the cleanliness of all swimming pool facilities and associated areas to include the swimming pool, changing areas, corridors, storage areas and meeting/reception areas and toilets. Carry out weekly checks in accordance with the Swimming Pool Operating Procedures
To support commercial lettings of the swimming pool to include; swimming clubs, local schools, galas and events, residential courses and summer club in liaison with the Aquatics/Pool Manager and Enterprises where appropriate, and that all commercial bookings operate within Health and Safety and Facility Hire Guidelines.
To support the Pool Manager in the opening and closing of the pool facilities when required, including some weekends, evenings and early mornings.
Assist with the effective delivery of the sports programmes to students where appropriate.
Promote the safeguarding and welfare of children and young persons for who you are responsible and with whom you come into contact with in line with School policy.
To be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of pupils at Leweston School.
Any other reasonable task as delegated by the Pool Manager.
No job description can cover all aspects of a role and consequently responsibilities are likely to evolve and change overtime.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential
The ability to work alone, unsupervised, as well as part of a team.
A proactive work ethic
Proficient at planning ahead and managing resources
SEQ Level 2 Swimming Teacher
A confident communicator with the ability to interact with all potential users of the pool in a friendly and positive manner
Flexible, co-operative, helpful and motivated with an ability to set and maintain high standards

Desirable (Training available where necessary)
NPLQ
NPLQ Trainer/Assessor
First Aid Certification

WORKING HOURS: 30 hours per week term time (34 weeks) to be worked as agreed with the Pool Manger.

There may be the opportunity to work additional hours during the holidays.
