Job Description
Job Title: Communications Lead
Hours: 37.5 each week
Location: Mattioli Woods Welford Road Stadium
Reports to: Head of Communications & Marketing
Salary: £32,000 per annum
Closing Date: 5PM, 15 August 2025


ROLE

The Communications Lead at Leicester Tigers will oversee all club communications and be the key contact for media organisations and broadcast partners.

Managing a team of two and working alongside the Content Lead and Social Media Lead, you will be a creative, strategic, unflappable individual, who loves to keep the conversation going!

Among your key responsibilities will be to develop and implement a club-wide communications strategy that elevates the brand, our Club Partners and the people who make up Leicester Tigers, while also contributing to the key areas of growing the Season Ticket Holder and Member numbers, selling match tickets, and strengthening the community footprint.

The in-house evangelist on the importance of perception, you will advise on all media matters and play a major part in the delivery of content across men’s, women’s, and academy rugby programmes, as well as matchdays for all three and all that is entailed, plus club events, partnerships, and community activity.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create and implement an overarching communications strategy for Leicester Tigers
• Manage relationships with all media stakeholders including broadcast, print, digital and radio media, as well as managing all press requests for players, coaches and staff
• Deliver media sessions and events in line with competition regulations for the men’s and women’s programmes
• Plan and execute all club announcements across all departments and functions
• Lead and manage the delivery of matchday coverage for the men’s, women’s, and academy teams at home and away games
• Advise players and staff on media responsibilities, including the delivery of education sessions for players and staff involved in the men’s and women’s programmes
• Support the delivery of industry-leading matchday presentation for all Leicester Tigers home games and events
• Analyse trends, data and insights to help inform decision making on content strategy
• Provide monthly reports on all content activity

REQUIREMENTS
(E) = Essential (D) = Desirable

• Experience in working with media organisations, broadcasters and journalists (E)
• Experience in sport or live events (E)
• Degree or equivalent experience in communications, journalism or media (E)
• Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud software (D)
• Ability to work weekends and evenings as required (E)
