Job Description
About Kinetic Foundation

The Kinetic Foundation is an innovative London-based football and education charity which helps young people who reside in the most deprived areas of the UK, are from low-income households and/or from historically marginalised ethnic backgrounds to stay in education through their passion for football. We empower young people to successfully transition into employment, training, university, or the professional game, resulting in increased workforce participation, reduced social inequalities, and greater opportunities for lifelong success.

Our Vision: Young peoples’ outcomes are not disproportionately affected by their social and demographic background.

Our Mission: Our mission is to use football to engage and inspire young people, so that they are empowered to complete post-16 education and achieve their full potential on and off the pitch.

Kinetic engage some of the hardest to reach young people through football. We offer high quality, structured coaching sessions as a gateway to deliver support to young people in the areas of:

• Education
• Employability skills, job search skills, work experience
• Capabilities – agency, self-efficacy and resilience
• Addressing barriers including health and wellbeing and developing life skills

Since its inception, Kinetic has supported over 12,000 young people.

The Role

Kinetic Foundation (KF) is recruiting a School Player Liaison Officer and football coach in Croydon / Bromley to help with the supervision and management of students during the school day on the Kinetic Academy programme, whilst also supporting the delivery of the practical coaching syllabus.

This is an important role within the Charity as you will be responsible for promoting KF and helping the young people we work with be the best they can be. You will work under the direction of the Head of Sixth Form at the school/college and KF Academy Manager and be provided with in-house learning and support through the Head of Coaching when football coaching.

Typically, each day will involve a mix of football activities (analysis, planning, training etc) and school-based activities. The successful candidate will be ready to work with all students to promote educational, social and emotional development, some of which may have challenging behaviours. The ideal applicant will be caring, patient and understanding.

The Liaison Officer must be attentive to the unique needs of each student and be able to identify proper solutions when students encounter issues. You should have strong interpersonal skills, as you’ll be collaborating with other teachers, working with students, and talking to families. We’re committed to building brighter futures for our young people, and we’re hoping you’re excited to be part of that experience.

You will need to have a flexible approach to the successful delivery of the position and the hours of work may change to meet the needs of the programme or football situation.

Further Information
Since 2011, the Kinetic Foundation has been extremely successful in the running of a post-16 football academy and education programme. A huge part of this success is down to the engagement and active presence of the SLO within the schools. The SLO is responsible for further supporting students with academic and pastoral needs, working closely with the School and Partnerships Manager and Sixth Form team.
To help with recruitment and retention on our post-16 academy, we run community and holiday programmes to help with our student engagement. These are pivotal to our success which SLOs will have a role in participating in.
We are looking for a dynamic individual who is flexible in approach. In return, we will provide the opportunity for you to develop in the role and play a major part in our future growth.
Equal Opportunities
Kinetic Foundations values diversity and inclusion, we welcome and encourage applications from candidates with diverse backgrounds, regardless of their age, gender identify, ethnicity, religion or belief, sexuality or disability.
