Job Description
About the IUSCA
The International Universities Strength and Conditioning Association (IUSCA) is a global leader in advancing professional standards in the field of strength and conditioning. We provide internationally accredited certifications, degree endorsements, and high-performance development opportunities. Through our partnerships with elite universities, sports organisations, and regulatory bodies, we are committed to raising the global standard of S&C education and practice.

About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and conscientious International Placement Coordinator to oversee and support our prestigious Volunteer Placement Program. This program provides UK-based students with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience at leading NCAA Division I athletic departments across the United States.

This freelance role is central to the success of the program and involves managing relationships with students and our network of high-profile collegiate partners. The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating placements, providing ongoing support, ensuring professional standards are met, and liaising with universities and sports performance leaders both in the UK and the US.

Key Responsibilities
• Serve as the primary point of contact for placement students, ensuring clear communication and professional support throughout the placement journey.
• Maintain and strengthen relationships with senior staff at NCAA Division I athletics departments and academic institutions.
• Coordinate logistical elements of placements, including onboarding, orientation materials, progress tracking, and post-placement evaluation.
• Monitor student progress and performance, helping to resolve issues promptly and professionally.
• Contribute to the ongoing development and quality assurance of the Volunteer Placement Program.
• Occasionally attend meetings or events in Leeds or elsewhere (advance notice given).

Person Specification
Essential Criteria:
• A bachelor's degree at 2:1 or higher in a relevant subject (e.g., Sport Science, Strength and
Conditioning, Exercise Physiology).
• Knowledge of the Strength and Conditioning profession, including practical and academic standards.
• Highly conscientious and organised, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities remotely.
• Proven ability to build and manage professional relationships at a senior level.
• Flexible and proactive, with a strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail.

Desirable Criteria:
• Experience within the US collegiate athletics system, ideally NCAA Division I.
• Previous involvement with international placements, internships, or student support.
• Internationally recognised certification at IQF Level 6 or higher, such as:
- IUSCA Accredited International Strength and Conditioning Practitioner (aISCP)
- NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS)
- UKSCA Accredited Strength and Conditioning Coach (ASCC)
- ASCA Level 3, or equivalent
How to apply
Please submit a CV and a short cover letter (maximum one page) outlining your suitability for the role and your relevant experience to: placements@iusca.org
