Women’s Recreational Football Coach Organisation Islington Borough Ladies FC Salary £13.85-14.97 per hour Location Islington, London Contract type Closing date 13 December 2025 Job Description Location: Various community venues (e.g. Barnard Park, Whittington Park, Sobell)Type: Casual hours (rate depending on qualifications)Role PurposeTo lead fun, inclusive football sessions for adult women of mixed abilities. The coach will focus on basic skill development, enjoyment, and confidence-building in a non-judgemental, welcoming environment.Key ResponsibilitiesSession DeliveryPlan and deliver weekly 60 minute recreational training sessionsDeliver sessions suitable for beginners, returners, and mixed-ability playersPromote participation, confidence, and enjoyment over competitionUse inclusive coaching techniques and adjust for different ability levelsPlayer SupportFoster a supportive, safe space for women to try football at their own paceHelp players progress gradually toward 5-a-side, 7-a-side or 11-a-side games (if desired)Signpost interested players to other club opportunities (e.g. Just Play, league teams)Respond to individual needs or barriers to engagement with sensitivityClub ContributionShare basic feedback with club leadsHelp promote the session through WhatsApp, socials, or flyers (optional)Contribute to development reviews and CPD sessions if possibleEssential RequirementsFA Introduction to Coaching Football / Level 1 (minimum to be paid) or Playmaker (voluntary)FA Safeguarding & First Aid certifications (or willing to gain with club support)Enhanced DBS checkPassionate about making football accessible for women of all backgroundsDesirable AttributesExperience working with adult beginners or women’s recreational sportAdaptable and empathetic coaching styleFamiliarity with inclusive coaching practicesComfortable leading solo or co-coaching with volunteersTime Commitment1 session per week (60mins)Optional: CPD workshops, club check-insSupport OfferedPeer support and WhatsApp groupsPlaying fees for club waivedFirst access to ticket giveawaysMentoring from Football Development staffAccess to FA fundingClub kit and coaching equipment How to apply To apply - please send a CV, or a few lines about yourself to Peter.Samways@GLL.org Share X LinkedIn Email
