Volunteer coach Organisation Islington Borough Ladies FC Salary Voluntary Location Islington, London Contract type Volunteer Closing date 13 December 2025 Job Description Location: Community football sessions across IslingtonType: Voluntary (with development support)Reporting to: Team Head Coach / Session Lead CoachRole PurposeTo support the delivery of grassroots football in a flexible coaching role. This position is ideal for volunteers exploring coaching, building experience, or working toward FA qualifications.Key ResponsibilitiesSession SupportHelp set up and pack down equipmentSupport lead coach in delivering warm-ups and basic drillsAssist with small-group activities or individual supportEncourage players positively and help create a fun, welcoming environmentAct as a role model for behaviour, effort, and respectLearning & DevelopmentObserve experienced coaches and ask questionsTake part in coach debriefs or planning chats when possibleComplete the FA Playmaker course (or equivalent intro course)Reflect on sessions and personal development goalsSafeguarding & InclusionEnsure sessions are safe and inclusive for all playersBe aware of basic safeguarding responsibilities and follow club policiesMaintain DBS clearance (arranged by club if needed)Essential RequirementsInterest in football and/or youth/community developmentEnthusiastic and positive attitudeWillingness to learn and contribute consistentlyEnhanced DBS checkDesirable AttributesExperience working with young people, players, or in a team setting.
