Founded by Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex in 2014, the Invictus Games uses adaptive sport to support the recovery of Wounded, Injured, and Sick (WIS) service personnel and veterans.Birmingham 2027 will bring together 550 competitors from over 25 nations across 12 sports, including Archery, Athletics, Cycling, Esports, Indoor Rowing, Laser Run, Pickleball, Powerlifting, Sitting Volleyball, Swimming, Wheelchair Basketball, and Wheelchair Rugby.The Games are about more than competition. They are a strategic advisor and key point of contact, providing check and challenge and support to all Games-focused departments (Commercial, Operations, Sport, & Communications). Person SpecificationQualificationsEssential• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experienceExperienceEssential• Experience in finance business partnering or commercial finance roles• Strong analytical, modelling, and problem solving skills• Excellent communication skills with the ability to distil complex financial information for non finance stakeholders• Proven ability to work in fast paced, high pressure environmentsDesirable• Familiarity with procurement processes, contract management, and multi funding environments• Experience in a similarly sized event organisation• Experience using systems such as Xero, InBudget, Smartsheet, or similarSkillsEssential• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deal effectively with people at all work levels• Collaborative, approachable, and solutions focused• Proactive with strong organisational skills and attention to detail• Able to work across diverse teams and adapt to evolving prioritiesWe are flexible regarding how this role is fulfilled (given its fixed term nature) and welcome applications from individuals interested in joining us either as a full time or part time employee or as a free-lancer.
