Invictus UK 2027 is a charity and delivery organisation for Invictus Games Birmingham 2027, taking place in July 2027 at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) and Sandwell Aquatics Centre. Founded by Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex in 2014, the Invictus Games uses adaptive sport to support the recovery of Wounded, Injured, and Sick (WIS) service personnel and veterans.
Birmingham 2027 will bring together 550 competitors from over 25 nations across 12 sports, including Archery, Athletics, Cycling, Esports, Indoor Rowing, Laser Run, Pickleball, Powerlifting, Sitting Volleyball, Swimming, Wheelchair Basketball, and Wheelchair Rugby.

Birmingham sits at the heart of this story, from life-saving care at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham to rehabilitation at the Defence and National Rehabilitation Centre and support at Fisher House, with many competitors returning to the place that supported them.

The role
We are looking for a Finance Business Manager to join our fantastic team at Invictus UK 2027 until 31 August 2027.
The Finance Business Manager will place finance at the centre of decision-making by providing data-driven insight, robust planning and clear communication. They are a strategic advisor and key point of contact, providing check and challenge and support to all Games-focused departments (Commercial, Operations, Sport, & Communications).

Qualifications
Essential
• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience

Experience
Essential
• Experience in finance business partnering or commercial finance roles
• Strong analytical, modelling, and problem solving skills
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to distil complex financial information for non finance stakeholders
• Proven ability to work in fast paced, high pressure environments
Desirable
• Familiarity with procurement processes, contract management, and multi funding environments
• Experience in a similarly sized event organisation
• Experience using systems such as Xero, InBudget, Smartsheet, or similar

Skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deal effectively with people at all work levels
• Collaborative, approachable, and solutions focused
• Proactive with strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Able to work across diverse teams and adapt to evolving priorities

The salary range for this position is £50,000-60,000 per annum.
For an employee this shall be a hybrid working arrangement with attendance at the Birmingham office.
