Founded by Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex in 2014, the Invictus Games uses adaptive sport to support the recovery of Wounded, Injured, and Sick (WIS) service personnel and veterans.Birmingham 2027 will bring together 550 competitors from over 25 nations across 12 sports, including Archery, Athletics, Cycling, Esports, Indoor Rowing, Laser Run, Pickleball, Powerlifting, Sitting Volleyball, Swimming, Wheelchair Basketball, and Wheelchair Rugby.The Games are about more than competition. We are flexible regarding how this role is fulfilled (given its fixed term nature) and welcome applications from individuals interested in joining us either as a fulltime or part time employee or as a free-lancer. This approach allows us to accommodate a range of professional preferences and ensures that the successful candidate can contribute to the Invictus UK 2027 team in a manner that best suits their circumstances.In this role you will be responsible for the delivery of the registration and accreditation process for the 2027 Invictus Games. We are looking to engage experienced and knowledgeable individuals to our operations team who will work with Populous, our registration partner, to deliver a thoroughly fit for purpose service covering; planning, data collection, data management, delivery and control management for all accredited client groups. In this role you will collaborate with our project partner Populous, the Operations team and wider Invictus Games Birmingham 2027 team and will be responsible for all aspects of the registration and accreditation process. Key Duties and Responsibilities• Drive the delivery of key data capture (Via Smartsheet) required to deliver a comprehensive accreditation process for all client groups, including competitors, family and friends, staff, IG27 staff, media, third parties and protocol guests• Lead the procurement of assets and hardware for use in the venues at Games Time, including but not limited to: accreditation passes; printers; access scanners• Drive the management and use of data between all workstreams of the Games, host venues and key suppliers• Deliver a registration and accreditation process that is inclusive, sustainable, intuitive and easily shared, edited and usable, incorporating a world class approach to accessibility and inclusivity• Lead the training of the wider IG27 team and key stakeholders in the use of the system, developing official guides in the process• Lead Games Time delivery of the accreditation process ensuring an efficient, risk free and easy to access system is in place, with a team of volunteers to support deliveryKey Relationships• To work with functional area leads in the development of accreditation requirements across all delivery areas.• To lead the relationship with Populous, our registration and accreditation partner.• To develop strong positive collaborative relationships with key partners and contractors.Person SpecificationQualifications• Educated to degree level or equivalent experience (Desirable)Experience• Recent experience of operating a registration and accreditation process at major international multi-sport events, delivered safely, on time and on budget (Essential)• Proven track record of delivering accreditation and registration systems (Essential)• At least 3 years’ operational experience of major sporting events (Essential)• A passion for the Invictus Games movement, adaptive sport and major events (Essential)• Flexible and innovative approach to event operations, with experience working across several operational areas (Essential)• Proven experience of stakeholder management within an event environment, across planning and delivery phases (Essential)• Experience in identifying and managing risks (Essential)• Ability to manage and resolve unforeseen issues quickly and calmly (Essential)• Experience of working in smaller organising committees and/or event delivery agencies, with a focus on driving efficiencies (Desirable)• Experience of delivering multi-sport events (Desirable)Skills• In-depth understanding of Smartsheet (Essential)• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels (Essential)• In-depth knowledge of accreditation best practice for international sports events (Essential)This is a fixed term role to 31 July 2027, both full time, part time and free-lance applications considered.The salary/rate for this position is £50,000 FTE per annum.
