Job Description
Hull City Football Club are looking for a highly motivated and committed Under 15-18s Academy Goalkeeping Coach to join our ambitious Category 2 Academy setup.

Position Type: Permanent, Full Time
Location: Hull City Academy, Bishop Burton College
Salary/Pay: Competitive, dependent on experience
Closing Date: 11am, Sunday 18th May 2025

Your key responsibilities

• Oversee the development and transition of goalkeepers from the Youth Development Phase to the Professional Development Phase
• Lead the coaching for the Under 15 - 18s goalkeepers, planning, delivering and evaluating sessions in line with the goalkeeping curriculum
• Ensure all U15-U18 goalkeepers have active and evolving Individual Development Plans
• Contribute to player reviews and pathway meetings, including signing decisions
• Maintain daily communication with the Head of Academy Goalkeeping regarding individual micro-cycles
• Provide goalkeeping cover across age groups (U9s–U14s and U21s) where required
• Support U18s matchday operations, including travel and coaching duties
• Participate in wider U18 coaching responsibilities as assigned
• Complete all administrative duties relevant to the role
• Attend team meetings and maintain required qualifications
• Assist in scouting and talent identification
• Uphold and contribute to the club’s safeguarding and development culture

What are we looking for?

Essential:

• UEFA B Licence (Goalkeeping)
• FA Safeguarding and FA Emergency First Aid in Football (EFAiF) qualifications
• Experience in developing youth goalkeepers in an academy football setting
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and unsociable hours
• High level of personal initiative and ability to work collaboratively

Desirable:

• UEFA A Licence (Goalkeeping)
• UEFA A Licence
• BSc (Hons) in a related subject
• Understanding of modern development pathways within academy football

The safeguarding and welfare of our players is paramount and as such this position is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.







Eligibility for Employment in the UK

In accordance with current legislative requirements, the successful applicant must produce documentary verification of their eligibility to work in the UK and will not be allowed to start work until this has been received.

Hull City Academy develops and works with talented young footballers from the age of 8 to 23. We have made significant progress since achieving Category Two status in 2015. Our mission is to nurture players with outstanding potential into future First Team regulars.

In recent years, numerous scholars have made their First Team debuts, with some going on to feature in the Premier League and top European leagues. We are expanding our Academy Recruitment Department to provide further opportunities for local talent, following in the footsteps of Academy graduates such as Jarrod Bowen, Max Clark and Keane Lewis-Potter.
