Job Description
Heart of Midlothian Football Club is a Scottish Premiership Football Club based in Edinburgh with Elite Academy Status. The Club is seeking to recruit an Academy Scout to work in Glasgow, Scotland. This is an exciting opportunity for candidates with previous scouting experience who are passionate about identifying talented young players.

The successful candidate will attend matches within their designated geographical area, and further afield when required, to identify players with the potential to develop into Heart of Midlothian FC players in line with academy requirements.

Academy Scout Responsibilities:

• Provide appropriate match coverage across the Glasgow area and identify players in line with recruitment priorities.
• Maintain a strong understanding of signed academy player profiles and group succession plans to inform recruitment priorities across assigned age groups.
• Upload reports to the online system by the weekly deadline.
• Support the provision of feedback to parents or guardians of players attending the Club on trial.
• Carry out any other scouting-related duties requested by the Head of Academy Recruitment or Academy Director.

Essential Experience, Qualifications & Requirements:

• SFA Talent ID Level 1.3 qualification (desirable).
• Knowledge of SFA scouting criteria and protocols.
• Previous scouting experience, ideally within an Elite Football Academy (desirable).
• Based in Glasgow, or able to travel reliably to Glasgow and other locations as required.
• Able to evidence the legal right to work in the UK.
• Full, valid UK driving licence.

• Excellent timekeeping and ability to manage time effectively.
• High standards of professionalism and confidentiality.
