Job Description
Purpose:
To grow and develop rugby across Harlequins' designated region by increasing participation, strengthening relationships with schools, clubs and community partners, and delivering high-quality rugby programmes that support the Harlequins Community Vision and commercial objectives.


The Details:

● Based at: Twickenham Stoop
● Reports to: Community Manager
● Supported By: Community Schools Manager, Community Camps Coordinator, Data & Engagement Officer & Community Partnerships Executive.


The Responsibilities:
● Develop and deliver a regional rugby development plan aligned with Harlequins Community objectives.
● Develop and implement a strategic development plan for rugby within their designated region, in line with Community Department’s guidelines and objectives.
● Increase participation in rugby through high-quality coaching programmes, school engagement, club support and community initiatives.
● Build and maintain strong relationships with affiliate clubs, schools, Constituent Bodies (Counties) and community stakeholders to strengthen local rugby networks
● Deliver high-quality coaching across schools, clubs, camps and community programmes for participants from U7 to adult.
● Identify and develop new school partnerships, including introducing rugby into schools without existing programmes and expanding paid delivery opportunities.
● Raise coaching standards by mentoring coaches, sharing best practice and supporting coach education initiatives.
● Support the Community Partnership Executive on affiliate club engagement programmes including (but not limited to) match day experiences e.g. Big Game and home fixture block ticket sales.
● Support the delivery of Community match day activations, including coaching clinics, festivals, tournaments and on-pitch experiences.
● Promote Harlequins programmes, drive ticket sales and support commercial and community engagement objectives.
● Continually identify opportunities to grow the Harlequins brand, increase audience engagement and enhance the impact of Community programmes.


Qualifications / Experience:

England Rugby Coaching Award (Level 2) - Essential
England Rugby Advanced Coaching Award (Level 3) - Desirable
A Level or equivalent education standard - Essential
Valid driving license - Essential
Previous community coaching experience in school/camp setting - Essential
RFU DBS certificate - Desirable
First Aid certificate - Desirable
Sports related degree qualification - Desirable


Personal and Technical Skills:
● Good knowledge and understanding of the RFU age grade rugby regulations.
● Outstanding communication and organisational skills.
● Good working knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint software packages.
● Energetic, enthusiastic, and inspiring coach with the ability to deliver high quality sessions to a wide range of participants – both male and female.
● Organised, reliable and professional to ensure that the Harlequins brand is constantly upheld.

● Enjoyment – Creates interactions with the Community that excite and inspire supporting the growth of the game and our Community’s connection to Quins.
