Academy Performance Nutritionist Organisation Harlequin Football Club Ltd Salary up to £200/day Location Surrey Sports Park, Guildford GU2 7AD Contract type Fixed Term (Part time) Closing date 13 May 2025 Interview date 19 May 2025 Job Description Job Title: Academy Performance NutritionistThe Role: To develop and deliver a scientifically sound nutrition programme for Harlequins FC Academy squad players.Department: Academy DepartmentReporting to: Head of Academy Athletic PerformanceLocation: Surrey Sports Park, Guildford GU2 7ADContract type: 1 seasonWork pattern: 1 day/weekRemuneration: up to £200/dayKey Responsibilities• Implement and monitor innovative and evidence-based nutrition strategies to support the players’ training and competitive programmes.• Maintain current data collection practices as outlined by the Sports Science department.• Maintain detailed records of all nutrition interventions and track measurable outcomes.• Produce and distribute reports and feedback to all relevant staff.• Design and deliver an evidence-based education programme for the Academy squad players.• Work closely with the rehabilitation team to maximise the recovery process for injured players.• Work closely with the Senior Performance Nutritionist to ensure nutritional strategies and practices are aligned across the club.• Anthropometric testing for all Senior Academy and EAP squad players.• Assist in research and innovation projects in conjunction with the Harlequins’ Research and Development programme• As a member of the Performance Team, you will be expected to deliver, and oversee role specific CPD.Essential Criteria:The below criteria are considered a minimum requirement for the role. You will be requested to provide evidence supporting these criteria throughout the application process.• BSc in Nutrition or Dietetics OR a BSc in a Sport and Exercise related subject along with an MSc in Sports Nutrition or Nutrition.• Accredited on the Sports and Exercise Nutrition Register (SENr).• ISAK Level 1 Accreditation with a minimum of 1 year experience in testing.• A minimum of 1 years’ experience working as a Performance Nutritionist in elite professional team sport.• Experience in the Implementation and monitoring of evidence-based nutrition strategies to athletes to support the high performance.• Experience in the education of athletes, using a food-focused approach to health and performance.• Well organised with excellent attention to detail.• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively within a multidisciplinary team.Must be available to start the role on the 1st of July 2025.
