Job Description
About Greenhouse Sports
Established in 2002, Greenhouse Sports is a youth charity using sport to drive social mobility. This means we’re intentional in our use of sport to support social change. Sport is our hook to engage young people, and one of the vehicles we use to support youth development. But we’re not here to create elite athletes or tackle physical inactivity. Instead, we create opportunities for young people to recognise their strengths and develop the skills they need to thrive, now and in the future.

Working across London, Portsmouth and Leicester, specifically in areas of high deprivation, we embed evidence-based positive youth development programmes into primary and secondary schools. These programmes are delivered by our trusted, high-quality Coach-Mentors who deliver year-round to ensure that young people have access to sport, mentoring, enrichment and employability activities. Every year, we support over 9,000 young people to attend school more often, improve their wellbeing and raise their aspirations, transforming life chances in the communities that need us most.

Role overview
You’ll be our eyes and ears on the ground, sharing the Greenhouse story and shaping powerful narratives that celebrate the life-changing impact of our programmes. You’ll show the world everything that’s happening at our freshly reopened Centre: a unique 17 century church turned community space in Edgware Road. The Centre will be your main base, but you’ll also be out and about gathering content from our schools programmes and corporate/brand events.
A major focus of your role will be to run and grow our vibrant social media presence. We’re looking for someone who can take in all the stories being shaped, opportunities being created and experiences being had day in, day out at Greenhouse, and create engaging content that brings them to life across Instagram, LinkedIn and Facebook. Through videos, stills, graphics and more, you’ll build the momentum, impact and community that are key to our work. You'll communicate the power of our Coach-Mentors’ impact on young people, and invite more people to become part of our ‘Team for Life’.

You’ll also get the chance to work alongside Olympic athletes, celebrity ambassadors and our globally-recognised brand and corporate partners. You'll take on a range of responsibilities, touching on every aspect of marketing and communications.
This role will suit you if you’ve got a great eye for content, you like variety and you’re a self-starter — with the drive and know-how to absorb the Greenhouse story, package it into the content we need for our channels, and get it shared far and wide. You’re a brave thinker and creator, an opportunity spotter, and you understand how to bring together quality content, keep our tone of voice and brand on point, and create social strategies that support and share our whole team’s work.

What you’ll do
• Content creation: Create engaging, on-trend content for our audiences (corporate funders, schools and young people), reflecting our mission and values.
• Social media leadership: Lead our social media strategy and calendar, using analytics to grow engagement and awareness.
• Communication strategies: Help shape and run strategies that grow our brand across digital platforms.
• Own our website and newsletter: Maintain and update our WordPress site, and use Google Analytics to monitor our digital presence.
• Source content from across Greenhouse for our Mailchimp newsletter.
• Event promotion: Create buzz around Greenhouse being part of major sports and community events like the London Marathon and Hackney Half.
• Stakeholder engagement: Work with high-profile corporate and brand partners and stakeholders to boost our campaigns.
• Administration tasks: Support our office staff and Coach-Mentors on marketing and comms requests, so the whole team is effectively representing our brand.

Who you are
• Skilled on socials: You’re ready to create and run content and campaigns (we mainly use Canva and CapCut).
• People person: You’re confident working with everyone from primary school-age young people to senior corporate leaders on our board. You’ve got a knack for making them all feel at ease when you’re capturing content.
• Proactive: You’re always spotting new ways to tell our story and grow our digital presence.
• Great communicator: You’re a clear writer and speaker.
• Organised: You have excellent planning skills, and you manage tasks and priorities effectively.
• Self-starter: You’re happy working independently, as well as collaborating with our wider team.
• Detail-oriented: You’re strong on the details and know why brand consistency matters.
• Bonus: Experience working on brand ambassadors/public affairs/youth policy.
