Safeguarding Statement
The Gloucestershire Cricket Foundation (GCF) is committed to safeguarding and protecting everyone that we work with. As such, all posts are subject to a safe recruitment process, including the disclosure of criminal records and vetting checks. We ensure that we have a range of policies and procedures in place which promote safeguarding and safer working practice across our services.

Job purpose and focus
Turn your passion for cricket into a career that changes lives.

If you love cricket, enjoy working with young people and want to make a genuine difference in your community, this is the opportunity you have been waiting for.

At the GCF, we believe cricket is far more than a game. Our mission is to improve lives through the power of cricket by putting more bats and balls into more people's hands. Working alongside the England and Wales Cricket Board, we are committed to making cricket the most inclusive team sport in England and Wales, creating opportunities for everyone, regardless of age, background or ability.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and community-minded individual to join our team as the Wicketz Community Coach. Whether you are an aspiring coach, recent graduate or someone ready to take the next step in your coaching journey, this role offers an incredible first step into a career in cricket and sports development.

Working in partnership with the Lord's Taverners, the nationally recognised Wicketz programme uses cricket as a vehicle to inspire young people living in underserved communities. It is about far more than coaching cricket; it is about building confidence, creating opportunities, developing life skills and helping young people realise what they are capable of.

As a Wicketz Community Coach, you will be at the heart of your community, delivering exciting cricket sessions where young people live, learn and socialise. You will build trusted relationships, create welcoming environments where everyone belongs and develop innovative projects that keep young people engaged long after they first pick up a bat or ball.

No two days are the same. One day you might be delivering an energetic cricket session at a Wicketz hub, the next working alongside schools, community organisations and local partners to create new opportunities for young people. You will have the freedom to bring your own ideas, be creative and shape programmes that make a lasting impact. You will also become part of a national network of Wicketz Development Officers, learning from experienced colleagues across England and Wales while developing the skills, knowledge and experience needed to build a successful career in cricket development, community sport and coaching.

If you are passionate about cricket, believe in the power of sport to change lives and are ready to take your first step into a rewarding career, we would love to hear from you.

Join the Gloucestershire Cricket Foundation and help us improve lives through the power of cricket.
