By promoting the core values of rugby—teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline, and sportsmanship—we aim to inspire and empower individuals of all ages and backgrounds, fostering a stronger, healthier, and more cohesive community.About the JobGloucester Rugby Charitable Foundation provides several education and wellbeing intervention programmes that use the power of Rugby to break down barriers and to positively change people’s lives. The Primary Education Coach will be fundamental to achieving this mission through providing excellent leadership and delivery skills for a range of programmes in educational settings. You will deliver and develop our programmes, whilst supporting the development of new projects aimed at engaging key stage 1 and 2 students. You will be key in delivering high quality lessons and to a range of participants and work alongside a very passionate team of coaches. You will deliver engaging sport themed lessons aimed at enhancing reading, writing and numeracy skills for KS 1 and 2 students which could utilise Gloucester Rugby player content. Lessons will vary between classroom and practical games and support the broad range of learners. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, dynamic, and self-motivated individual with the skills and aptitude to support young people in a range of education settings who have a variety of challenges and needs. Their key job accountabilities will be:• To undertake the necessary planning for each lesson, ensuring that teaching and coaching demonstrates progression throughout, is aligned to the national curriculum and the relevant NGB guidelines and follows the principles of long-term student development.• To ensure that all lessons are high quality, student-centered lessons that maximise enjoyment, participation, and participant progress. • Ensure all lessons and sessions are caring, active, purposeful, enjoyable, and safe.• To continually monitor and evaluate all lessons/sessions, activities, and relationships with the ultimate vision of improving the quality, impact, and reputation of Gloucester Rugby Foundation.• Work with the Head of Charitable Delivery and Head of Community Rugby by providing reports, data and case studies in a timely manner. • To work closely with the Foundation Primary Education Lead and Head of Charitable Delivery to deliver the Foundations strategy and to prioritise project ideas and programme innovations.• To support the delivery across other education, participation and wellbeing programmes to ensure the delivery of the initiatives achieve the relevant outcomes. This role may include community-based delivery, match day events, festivals, and other programmes. We expect our employees to adopt rigorous techniques and best practices to ensure the validity of our results, enabling us to uphold our mission of driving positive change through rugby-related initiatives.SafeguardingGloucester Rugby Charitable Foundation is committed to ensuring that everyone involved in sport and physical activity—whether a volunteer, participant, spectator, or elite athlete—should never have to worry about abuse or harassment.Qualifications, Experience & Knowledge Essential• Experience in a primary school setting or similar organisation e.g youth support• Experience of delivering high quality classroom lessons • Experience of working with under-represented groups of people in education or sport settings• Experience of working with and supporting vulnerable people • Excellent organisation, time management and communication skills• Strong problem-solving skills and a positive ‘can do’ attitude.• An enthusiastic and committed individual who will ‘go the extra mile’ to deliver resultsDesirable• Educated to a PGCE or equivalent level. • Mental Health First Aider training • Trauma informed training • Experience of working with local agencies in Education• Educated to ‘A’ level standard or equivalent qualifications/experienced• A passion for sport and an understanding of wider issues relating to sport, health and education • Experience of delivering high quality sports-based lessons Minimum StandardsOutside of the essential requirements for the role, we must comply with the minimum standards set by our governing bodies. All employees must meet these standards when working for us and we will provide the necessary training where required. • *England Ruby Coaching Award (ERCA or Level 2 equivalent)• *First Aid certification• *Safeguarding Qualification• *Current DBS• *RFU’s Minimum Standards (In Touch, Head Case, etc.)• Current Driving License with no more than six points • Access to a vehicle *If you do not meet this requirement, we can provide the training, but we would expect you to be compliant within six months.
