Glasgow Life is looking for Lifeguards to join our passionate Sport Operations team. If you’re excited by the idea of making a real difference through culture and sport in our city, this could be the role for you.

The Basics
Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week. Part Time, 10hrs, 15hrs or 20hrs per week available.
Depending on the venue, our earliest shift starts at 5.45am and latest finishes at 10.30pm (Monday to Friday) and weekends operate from 8am with closing at 8pm. Rotas typically work on a 3 rolling week rotation, with an average of 35hrs per week, so you'll know what hours you are working in advance.
Contract Type: Permanent
Pay Details: Full Time salary is £25,346.03, this will be pro-rata for part-time roles (hourly rate is £13.89)
Location:
City-wide, with your main base discussed at interview. We currently have vacancies at 9 of our pools - Bellahouston, Scotstoun, Tollcross, Gorbals, North Woodside, Pollok, Drumchapel, Springburn and Maryhill
About The role
As a Lifeguard you’ll be an integral part of an established team, reporting to the Duty Manager . Your role will be essential in providing excellent customer service to swimmers and visitors at our sports venues. Your job will be split between supervision of the pool, reception duties (answering calls and queries, using the booking and payment system greeting customers) and maintaining a high cleanliness standard of the sport centre. You'll also help set up for activities and events. Whether you're supporting our communities, helping people get active, or delivering cultural experiences, your work will have a visible and lasting impact.
About You
If you’re ready to bring your skills and energy to Glasgow Life, here’s what we’re looking for:
• Confident Swimming Ability (be able to achieve a timed 100m swim & deep dive).
• Existing pool lifeguard qualification OR willingness to acheive the STA Pool Lifeguard qualification within 12 weeks (delivered by Glasgow Life)Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• The ability to set up equipment & facilities for customers use.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for customer and staff.

About the Selection Process:

The interview process has two stages: first, a swim test to assess your ability. Successful candidates will then proceed to a competency-based interview.
