The Role We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and operationally focused Fleet Manager to join our Transport team within the Games Services & Workforce function. This role will play a central part in delivering the Games-wide fleet operation, ensuring vehicles are safe, available, and efficiently deployed to support athletes, officials, media, workforce, and Games Family stakeholders. You will lead the planning, delivery, and management of the Games vehicle fleet, overseeing the full vehicle lifecycle from procurement and allocation to servicing, fuelling, and Games-time operations. Working closely with internal teams and external suppliers, you will help ensure that fleet operations run smoothly and effectively, supporting the safe and seamless movement of key client groups throughout the Games. This is a senior operational leadership role, offering a unique opportunity to contribute directly to the delivery of one of the world’s most prestigious sporting events. Job Summary: As Fleet Manager, you will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and operational delivery of the Glasgow 2026 vehicle fleet, ensuring fleet services are safe, efficient, and aligned with Games operational requirements. You will oversee vehicle procurement coordination, allocation, compliance, and operational readiness, ensuring vehicles are appropriately deployed to support Games client groups. You will lead the development and implementation of fleet operational plans, working closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure vehicles are available, compliant, and maintained throughout the Games lifecycle. You will also oversee driver workforce planning, supporting recruitment, training, and deployment in collaboration with Workforce and Volunteer teams. During Games-time, you will play a key role in fleet operations, supporting real-time fleet coordination, monitoring vehicle usage and availability, and helping ensure transport services operate effectively across all venues. You will contribute to operational readiness planning, testing activities, and post-Games fleet demobilisation, ensuring fleet operations are delivered to the highest standard. Key Skills and Experience: We are looking for someone with proven experience managing vehicle fleet operations at scale within logistics, public sector, corporate, or major event environments. You will have strong experience managing suppliers and contracts, including procurement coordination, service delivery oversight, and ensuring compliance with operational and safety standards. You will have experience overseeing vehicle allocation, driver management, and fleet tracking systems, with a strong understanding of operational planning, maintenance coordination, and service delivery requirements. You will be a confident and capable leader, with experience managing teams and working in high-pressure operational environments. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential, along with excellent stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to work effectively with internal teams and external partners. Experience supporting major events, transport operations, or fleet services in complex environments would be highly advantageous, as would familiarity with vehicle tracking systems, fuel management, sustainability considerations, or transport compliance requirements.
