A movement that will not only deliver a world-class sporting experience but will also create a lasting legacy, maximising social and economic benefits for the city and the Commonwealth. The Role

As Governance & Reporting Manager, you will play a central role in safeguarding the integrity, transparency, and accountability of the Glasgow 2026 Organising Company. Reporting to the Director of Corporate Services, you will lead the day-to-day management of our corporate governance framework, ensuring that effective structures, clear processes, and a culture of good governance underpin every aspect of Games delivery.

This is a highly visible role that combines hands-on operational delivery with strategic influence. You will provide governance advice and support to the Executive Team and senior leaders, oversee Board and Committee operations, and drive compliance with statutory, regulatory, and partner obligations.

Your work will ensure that as the organisation grows rapidly in preparation for the Games, robust controls, clear reporting, and ethical decision-making remain at the forefront. This is an exceptional opportunity to shape governance best practices in a dynamic major event environment and leave a legacy of excellence beyond 2026.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will manage the governance structure of Glasgow 2026, coordinating the scheduling, preparation, and servicing of Board and Committee meetings. You will lead the development of the corporate policy framework, ensuring policies are compliant, consistently applied, and understood across all functions.

You will provide expert governance advice to senior leaders, supporting them in matters of assurance, compliance, delegation of authority, and reporting. You will also liaise closely with programme delivery teams to assess and report strategic risks to the Board and Subcommittees.

Your responsibilities will include monitoring compliance obligations linked to Games partner agreements and statutory requirements, such as Companies House filings and audit processes. You will work in close partnership with Legal, Finance, HR, Procurement, and Operational teams to align governance processes and ensure integrated reporting.

Additionally, you will lead the onboarding and training of directors and managers in their governance responsibilities, embed a culture of transparency and accountability, and promote continuous improvement across all areas of governance practice.

As the Games approach, you will adapt to evolving requirements, maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, public trust, and ethical conduct in every aspect of your work.

Key Skills and Experience:

To succeed in this role, you will bring significant experience in corporate governance, assurance, or compliance roles, ideally within a public, regulated, charity, or complex programme environment. You will have a strong understanding of governance frameworks, internal controls, delegated authorities, and compliance obligations.

You will be confident in preparing board papers, policies, and risk registers, and skilled in advising senior leaders, board members, and external partners on governance and compliance matters.

Excellent organisational and document management abilities are essential, along with clear communication skills and a high level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism.

It would be an advantage if you have experience supporting governance in a major event, sport, or temporary programme setting, or familiarity with UK and Scottish Government governance standards, Companies House requirements, or public funding assurance.
