The RoleWe have an exciting opportunity for a Testing & Readiness Manager to join the Games Readiness & Delivery team at Glasgow 2026.In this pivotal role, you will lead the planning, coordination, and execution of the Games-wide readiness programme, ensuring that people, systems, and processes are tested, aligned, and fully prepared for the demands of Games-time delivery.From desktop exercises and simulations to venue operational rehearsals, your work will help build confidence, capability, and operational resilience across all functions and partners.This is a hands-on delivery role ideal for someone with major event testing and exercising experience, a calm and structured approach, and a passion for enabling teams to perform under pressure.Job Summary: As Testing & Readiness Manager, you will act as a key connector across functional areas, delivery partners, venues, and external stakeholders to deliver a comprehensive readiness programme. You will develop and coordinate readiness activities at all operational levels – from venue-specific exercises to Games-wide simulations – and ensure critical workflows, decision points, and contingency plans are robustly tested.You will work closely with teams to design scenarios, facilitate structured debriefs, document lessons learned, and drive continuous improvement. Integrating readiness activities with risk management, health and safety, business continuity, and other delivery programmes will be essential to building a cohesive approach.You will also create toolkits, templates, and training materials to help teams prepare effectively, track progress and confidence levels, and report readiness outcomes to senior stakeholders. In the final ramp-up to Games-time, you will support operational preparations on the ground and contribute to legacy planning and post-Games reporting.Key Skills and Experience: To succeed in this role, you will bring significant experience in operational readiness, contingency planning, or live event operations, along with a proven track record in designing and delivering testing programmes, simulations, or exercises for complex events or environments.You will be comfortable managing multi-stakeholder delivery programmes with tight deadlines and evolving priorities. Confident facilitation skills and excellent communication and relationship management abilities are essential.You will have experience gathering insights, evaluating performance, identifying operational risks or gaps, and implementing continuous improvement. Strong organisational and planning skills, high attention to detail, and familiarity with risk management and incident response frameworks are also required.It would be an advantage if you have experience in a Games, international sporting event, or major venue operations context, as well as an understanding of multi-agency testing and blue-light coordination. Familiarity with readiness frameworks used in UK public events or government planning, and a project management qualification (such as Prince2, Agile, APM) or event operations certification, would also be beneficial.Why Glasgow 2026?
