Job Description
Help Us Shape the Future of the Commonwealth Games – Glasgow 2026!

The journey to Glasgow 2026 starts now – and we want YOU to be part of it! Get ready for a brilliant new era for the Commonwealth Games, blending world-class sport with a sustainable, future-focused vision.

In just under 400 days, Glasgow will transform into a global hub for sport and culture, welcoming 3,000 athletes from 74 nations, across 11 days of unforgettable action, fuelled by the city’s unstoppable energy and passion.

Glasgow 2026 is set to revolutionise the Games, with a bold, ‘Clyde Built’ experience that reflects the city’s resilience and innovation. This is more than just an event; it’s a movement – a celebration of unity, equality, and sporting excellence. A movement that will not only deliver a world-class sporting experience but will also create a lasting legacy, maximising social and economic benefits for the city and the Commonwealth. Don’t miss your chance to be part of something historic!

If you have a passion for sport and a drive for excellence and want to be part of creating something truly special, then Glasgow 2026 wants you.

The Role

As Videographer, you’ll be a core member of the Glasgow 2026 Content and Design team – capturing authentic moments, producing dynamic edits, and bringing the spirit of the Games to life for audiences across Scotland, the Commonwealth, and the world.

Working within the Marketing and Content function, you’ll manage the full video production lifecycle: from concept and filming through to editing and delivery. Whether you’re shooting a short-form reel for social media, an athlete feature for broadcast, or behind-the-scenes moments for internal campaigns, your work will connect people to the energy, excitement, and inclusive values of Glasgow 2026.

This is a rare opportunity to create iconic content for one of the world’s most watched sporting and cultural events, working in partnership with Commonwealth Sport and Commonwealth Games Scotland to showcase Glasgow on the global stage.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will film high-quality video content in a variety of settings including live events, interviews, features, and campaign shoots. You will edit both short- and long-form videos for use across social media, digital platforms, internal channels, and partner campaigns, ensuring all content is consistent with the Glasgow 2026 brand, tone, and accessibility standards.

You will collaborate with content producers, designers, and marketing colleagues to develop creative concepts and produce engaging visual narratives. Alongside shooting and editing, you will manage production schedules, organise and catalogue footage, integrate subtitles and graphics, and support filming needs across other departments, including volunteer stories, workforce communications, and sponsor activations.

This role requires flexibility and the ability to travel across the UK as needed, including evening and weekend shoots in the run-up to and during the Games. Responsibilities will evolve as the project progresses toward Games-time operations.

This fast-paced role is ideal for someone organised, calm under pressure, and passionate about delivering seamless experiences for athletes, officials, media, and workforce across a world-class sporting event.

Key Skills and Experience:

To succeed in this role, you will have proven experience in video production, filming, and editing across multiple formats and platforms. You will be skilled in editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, and After Effects, and confident operating Sony cameras, gimbals, lighting setups, and audio equipment.

You will bring strong editorial judgment, and a good understanding of storytelling, pacing, and video structure tailored to different audiences and platforms. Experience creating content for social media channels such as Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts is essential, as is familiarity with accessibility standards including subtitling and captions.

You will have excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, production schedules, and file libraries. A flexible approach and readiness to travel or work evenings and weekends are required. Experience working in major events, live sport, or multi-location shoots will be highly valued.

It would be an advantage if you have an interest in Commonwealth sports and key athletes, as well as drone operation or motion graphics experience. Familiarity with brand and content management platforms (such as Frame.io, Ci Media, Airtable, or Iconik), and experience working with agencies, freelancers, or cross-functional teams, would also be beneficial.

Why Glasgow 2026?

Joining the Glasgow 2026 team means being part of something extraordinary. As we embark on this exciting journey, we’re not just planning an event – we’re creating a new legacy for Glasgow and the Commonwealth. This is an opportunity to shape the future of major sporting events, bringing the world together for 11 days of unforgettable competition and culture.

We’re looking for well-organised, passionate, and driven people who are excited to roll up their sleeves and be part of an inclusive, forward-thinking, and sustainable Games. This is your chance to help set the new standard for global events while contributing to the city’s rich sporting legacy.
