The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Sport Competition Manager – Track Cycling & Para Track Cycling to join our Sport team at Glasgow 2026. This is your chance to lead one of the most dynamic, high-speed competitions in the Games and deliver a world-class experience for athletes, officials, and fans alike.

As Sport Competition Manager – Track Cycling & Para Track Cycling, you’ll be responsible for the strategic and operational planning of these integrated events, ensuring all aspects of delivery meet the technical standards of the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), Commonwealth Sport, and our own Glasgow 2026 protocols. From venue and Field of Play design to competition scheduling, technology integration, and stakeholder engagement, your leadership will ensure that Track Cycling is delivered to the highest international standard.

You’ll lead a dedicated team and collaborate across multiple internal functions, including Venue Operations, Logistics, Technology, and Workforce, while also building strong partnerships with UCI, British Cycling, Scottish Cycling, and other key stakeholders. This role places you at the very centre of a high-energy, athlete-focused operation that celebrates speed, precision, and inclusivity.

Job Summary:

As Sport Competition Manager – Track Cycling & Para Track Cycling, you will lead all aspects of planning and delivering the competition at Glasgow 2026. This includes ensuring compliance with UCI rules and regulations, developing and maintaining the sport-specific delivery plan, and contributing to Games-wide integration and readiness programmes.

You’ll provide expert guidance on venue design, Field of Play requirements, athlete services, and the integration of timing, scoring, and results systems. You will manage the competition schedule and ensure the timely production of key sport documentation including technical manuals, bulletins, and the Detailed Competition and Activity Schedule (DCAS).

Your responsibilities will also include recruiting and leading a dedicated team of volunteers and staff, managing relationships with UCI and national cycling organisations, and preparing the sport for seamless Games-time operations. This is a role where leadership, collaboration, and a passion for sporting excellence come together to create something extraordinary.

Key Skills and Experience:

The ideal candidate will bring proven experience in the delivery of national or international Track Cycling competitions, ideally including Para Cycling events. You’ll have a deep understanding of UCI regulations and technical standards, as well as a background in delivering competition operations as part of a major sporting event or multi-sport Games.

You’ll be a confident leader, capable of managing both people and complex logistics, with the ability to work collaboratively across Functional Areas and with a wide range of stakeholders. Strong interpersonal and communication skills will be vital, as will your capacity to manage timelines, mitigate risks, and uphold high-quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.

A solid grasp of project management principles is essential, along with IT literacy and familiarity with competition management systems. Experience within a Commonwealth, Olympic, or other multi-sport Games environment is desirable, along with a working knowledge of Para sport integration, classification, and inclusive delivery models. An understanding of Glasgow 2026’s values and strategic goals will also be beneficial.
