The RoleWe have an exciting opportunity for a Sport Competition Manager – Swimming & Para Swimming to join our Sport team at Glasgow 2026. This is your chance to lead the integrated delivery of two of the most high-profile and widely watched competitions of the Games, creating a world-class environment for elite athletes from across the Commonwealth.As Sport Competition Manager – Swimming & Para Swimming, you will be responsible for the strategic planning, coordination, and successful delivery of the competitions, in line with the technical standards and regulations of World Aquatics, World Para Swimming, and Commonwealth Sport. From schedule development and venue readiness to Field of Play operations, stakeholder engagement, and workforce planning – your leadership will ensure an athlete-first, Games-ready operation.Working in close collaboration with International Federations, National Governing Bodies, and internal Functional Areas including Technology, Logistics, Workforce, and Venue Operations, you’ll be the key integrator of sport-specific planning with overall Games-time delivery.Job Summary: As Sport Competition Manager – Swimming & Para Swimming, you will be accountable for the end-to-end delivery of both competitions. This includes developing a comprehensive sport-specific delivery plan covering timelines, equipment, venue and training environments, and operational interfaces across the Games.You will provide expert guidance on Field of Play design, athlete preparation areas, call rooms, and logistics, while collaborating with the Technology team to ensure seamless integration of timing, scoring, and results systems. You’ll coordinate the competition schedule, lead on International Federation site visits, and oversee the development of key technical publications and manuals.You’ll play a key role in creating the Detailed Competition and Activity Schedule (DCAS), ensuring sport-specific requirements are aligned with the broader Games programme. You will also manage relationships with World Aquatics, World Para Swimming, NGBs, and CGAs to maintain alignment and readiness.You will be responsible for appointing and preparing Technical Officials, managing sport volunteers, and leading a small internal team including Sport Coordinators and Technical Operations Managers. In addition, you’ll contribute to Games-wide readiness programmes, risk planning, project reporting, and knowledge transfer to support future Games.Key Skills and Experience: The successful candidate will bring proven experience delivering Swimming and/or Para Swimming competitions at a national or international level. You will have in-depth knowledge of World Aquatics and World Para Swimming rules and technical standards, and a strong background in major event operations or multi-sport Games environments.You will be a confident and collaborative leader, with a demonstrated ability to manage teams, workstreams, and multiple stakeholders across complex timelines. Your interpersonal and communication skills will be essential in building effective relationships with International Federations, NGBs, CGAs, and internal Games teams.You will also have excellent project management capabilities, with a track record of delivering to milestones, managing risks, and integrating sport operations with wider event infrastructure. IT literacy, including Microsoft Office and familiarity with competition management systems, is required.Experience working within a Commonwealth, Olympic, or multi-sport Games environment is desirable, along with a good understanding of Para sport delivery, athlete classification, and inclusive practices. Knowledge of Glasgow 2026’s strategic aims, scheduling tools, and Games overlay processes will also be beneficial.Why Glasgow 2026?
