The RoleWe have an exciting opportunity for a Sport Competition Manager – Netball to join our Sport team at Glasgow 2026. This is your opportunity to lead one of the most popular team sports in the Commonwealth Games, delivering a top-tier competition that showcases the power, speed, and strategy of elite Netball on the world stage.As Sport Competition Manager – Netball, you’ll be responsible for the end-to-end planning and delivery of the Netball competition in accordance with World Netball (WN) technical regulations and the expectations of Commonwealth Sport. From venue and Field of Play (FoP) design to competition scheduling, workforce coordination, and Games-time operations, your leadership will ensure a smooth and professional event for athletes, officials, and spectators.You will also play a vital role in integrating sport-specific needs across the wider Organising Committee – working with colleagues in Technology, Logistics, Venue Operations, Athlete Services, and Sport Entries – to create a seamless and athlete-centred delivery.Job Summary: In this role, you will oversee all technical and operational aspects of the Netball competition, including the development of a detailed delivery plan, scheduling, venue preparation, and stakeholder coordination. You’ll provide specialist input into venue layout and athlete preparation areas, and work alongside internal Functional Areas to ensure Netball-specific services and infrastructure are Games-ready.You’ll lead the planning and day-to-day management of the Netball competition and training venues, coordinate timing and results system integration, and ensure technical manuals and information bulletins are produced in line with delivery timelines. You will also develop strong working relationships with World Netball, Netball Scotland, and other key stakeholders to align delivery, official appointments, and training venue access.You will line-manage a Sport Coordinator and Technical Operations Manager(s), lead a team of trained volunteers, and work with the Games Readiness team to deliver test events and simulation exercises. Your role will also include contributing to Transfer of Knowledge documentation to support future Games organisers, while maintaining high standards of health, safety, and accessibility throughout.Key Skills and Experience: The ideal candidate will bring significant experience planning and delivering Netball competitions at a national or international level, with a deep understanding of World Netball rules and standards. You’ll have a background in major sporting events or multi-sport Games and be highly skilled in project management – capable of handling complex schedules, cross-functional coordination, and budget management.You’ll be confident leading teams and managing volunteers in a fast-paced environment, with strong interpersonal and communication skills that enable productive relationships with International Federations, NGBs, and delivery partners.You will be confident using Microsoft Office and familiar with sport competition systems. Experience in training venue planning, sport entry processes, and volunteer coordination is desirable, as is a working knowledge of Glasgow 2026’s values and strategic goals.Why Glasgow 2026?
