The RoleWe have an exciting opportunity for a Sport Competition Manager – Bowls and Para Bowls to join our Sport team at Glasgow 2026. This is your chance to lead the planning and delivery of one of the Commonwealth Games’ most iconic and inclusive sports, combining tradition, precision, and accessibility into a world-class event.As Sport Competition Manager – Bowls and Para Bowls, you will be responsible for the full end-to-end planning and operational delivery of the competitions, ensuring full compliance with the relevant International Federation’s rules and the expectations of Commonwealth Sport. You’ll work closely with internal Functional Areas, governing bodies, and partners to ensure a seamless, athlete-first competition that reflects the values of Glasgow 2026.This role includes oversight of all technical operations, Field of Play design, venue readiness, scheduling, volunteer and official appointments, and Games-time delivery.Job Summary: As Sport Competition Manager – Bowls and Para Bowls, you will lead all aspects of sport-specific delivery for both competitions, ensuring their smooth integration into the overall Games programme. This includes developing and executing a detailed delivery plan, managing competition and training venues, overseeing day-to-day venue operations, and coordinating with partners across Technology, Logistics, and Athlete Services.You’ll contribute to venue and operational planning, ensuring the Field of Play, athlete preparation areas, and training environments meet international standards. You will also manage the development of the competition schedule, and the Detailed Competition and Activity Schedule (DCAS), and support test events and the Games Readiness Programme.You’ll work closely with World Bowls, relevant NGBs, and Commonwealth Sport to coordinate Technical Official appointments, and lead the recruitment and training of a large volunteer team. You’ll manage a small internal team and provide regular updates on project progress, risks, and dependencies. You’ll also contribute to legacy planning through the Transfer of Knowledge process.Key Skills and Experience: You will have demonstrated experience planning and delivering Lawn Bowls and Para Bowls competitions at a national or international level, with a strong understanding of technical requirements, operational standards, and International Federation regulations. Experience in multi-sport Games or major event environments is essential.You’ll bring strong project management skills, with a proven ability to coordinate timelines, stakeholders, and budgets in complex, dynamic environments. You’ll be confident leading teams and volunteers and experienced in working across cross-functional departments and external stakeholders.You should be proficient in Microsoft Office and sport competition management systems, and experienced in training venue planning, equipment delivery, and sport entry coordination. Familiarity with Para sport integration and an understanding of Glasgow 2026’s values and operational model will be highly regarded.Why Glasgow 2026?
